Default Blender on a cruise?

We're sailing on the Conquest out of Galveston in August and were hoping someone could advise us on the feasibility of taking a BLENDER (!) on board in our luggage. I make a mean frozen margarita and would like to have that luxury on the cruise. (I've already read all about taking alcohol in luggage - many thanks to all who posted info.) Any advice?
THANKS!

I've heard of people taking them and never using them. Just takes up space and adds weight to your luggage. On the rocks is the key...

I am not flaming or being smart but doesn't it seem a bit out of place to have a kitchen utensil on a cruiseship?

The idea is that you purchase Carnival's foo-foo drinks.

I don't know what the room attendant will do but I wouldn't recommend it.

Here's an article from www.sealetter.com that my husband and I used several years ago on a cruise. We also snuck our alcohol in by putting it in a "scope" or other similar type bottle.

Hope this helps! Enjoy your cruise!

We pack the charcoal and lighter fluid in separate suitcases, tho, just to throw off the dogs.

Bringing a blending is, in my humble opinion only, one of the most tasteless things you can do.

IMHO, if you want to drink but cannot afford to purchase the ship's beverages, it may behoove you to seek out a less costly form of vacation.

Don't flame. Just my opinion.

It is one thing to bring liquor but to bring a blender so that you can make "home made" foo-foo's Hahahahaha You can do it. Just don't tell anyone you have done it. Hahahahahah

Kinda like wearing greasy overalls in the dining room.

You know, I can see both sides of this one, but I think now that you mention it, if I were going to bring a blender... I would bring my majic bullet. It's small, quick and you can blend right in your cup.
Thanks for the idea....

I think I saw Lindsey Lohan putting booze in a scope bottle.

Seriously - If you find yourself putting booze into a scope bottle - You might have a drinking problem.

Don 't laugh, I went to school (post secondary) with a gal who always had an open bottle of coke/pepsi with her when she got to school and would sip away at the pop all morning. We would take the bottles in and use the money for something for the whole class. Someone asked if she was done, she was, so they took it and put it in the bin, but not before they got a good whiff of rum whilst taking the bottle......She had been bringing rum and coke everyday (mornings nonetheless) to school for months....talk about a problem...she didn't last long because the course was intense and she wasn't quite ready to do homework for more than an hour a night....

Just be sure to label the suitcase with all the utensils as " fragile "--

I did say week or so ago that It wouldn't surprise me if someone showed up with a grille, charcoal and jug of lighter fluid--- wait and see--
were getting closer !! Or maybe just a little sterno heater for roasting marshmallows on the ole' balcony !!

I don't think this was ever a serious question. The poster is listed as a beginner with only 1 post so it's a "dash and dine" to see what people will say.

I say just rent the frozen margarita machine and FED EX to the ship a head of time. That way it saves space in your baggage.

While I personally believe it's a waste of luggage space, electricity and being overly "frugal", it is something that a number of cruisers have done. I've heard the whir of a blender on a couple of cruises. The one I remember was from our neighbors on Celebrity, Mercury. They were in a Sky Suite.

I don't know if the new baggage scanning procedures would flag a blender or not. I think I'd just go for it on the rocks and buy the blended drinks.

It's a cruise not a camping trip.

Take care,
Mike

I just had to look at this post. Just could not help myself. Serious or not, these posts have made my day. I think I will laugh all the way home over this one.

You could make other tasteful food items in the blender to save on the food costs... . That way, you would not have to wonder if you eat in the buffet or the dining room.
