Default Jeep excursion in Cozumel

Hi guys,

Leaving next week on Carnival Triumph

We want to do a jungle jeep excursion with a bit of snorkeling in Cozumel. Do you have any suggestions for booking a private tour? Any references?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

We've done Carnival's Eco Jeep and Snorkel Tour a couple of years ago and it was great fun. We returned to Cozumel in March and this time we rented a van (there were 6 of us on this trip) and basically did the same things we would have done in the jeep and snorkel tour. Which is to go to the southern tip of Cozumel to an ecopark called Punta Sur. National Geographic voted it one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. At certain times of the year Sea Turtles lay their eggs there. There are some mayan ruins and a neat old lighthouse. You can also get up close and personal with the crocodiles if you choose. They rent snorkel equipment on site and it is a very fun, yet inexpensive way to spend a day. The nice thing about Cozumel is there is one main road that circles the island so it is very easy to get around without getting lost. One thing is that there are no restaurants aside from a little snack bar at the beach. There is a Bob Marley's Rasta restaurant just outside Punta Sur (I've never eaten there so I don't know if it's any good or not) or you may want to eat before or after you go to Punta Sur. Hope that helps, Have a great time.

I agree with beenie weenie. We rented a jeep for $45 and all we had to do was top off the tank before bringing it back. It is such a short ride around the island, the gas cost us about $5. Great way to spend the entire day enjoying the island, the beaches, etc. and very, very economical, too.
