key west question

we stop in key west from 7am till 5pm.
has anyone did any fishing there? like one of the day boats??

I haven't, but everyone I spoke to about fishing excursions said they were very pricey and caught little/nothing. If I were gonna fish Florida, I'd arrive/depart a day earlier/later and book my own private charter.

Rent one of those battery operated cars and just see the town. My friend and I had a ball and saw so much more than on the trolley tour. Be sure and take your cell phone in case the battery runs low. We had a small problem and the guy was out to swap cars with us right away.
There is a place near the trolley station that has info on the rentals. Also, across the street is a place to eat called Two Friends. Very good. Be sure to get the conk fritters and a margarita!

I second cabin gal. Those electric cars are a blast. They are like customized golf carts and go fast enough (30 mph) to see all of the island. Our battery ran low too in the Truman Annex, and a cell call took care of it in five minutes. If you're a parrothead (or even if you're not) have a Pirate's Grog at Captain Tony's. BTW you can walk around in public with a drink in your hand, but beware of the clothes-optional bar !!!
