Packing formal clothes
Is there a technique for packing formal clothing? My wife plans on brining a longer dress but we're also trying to pack as light as possible - only a carry on for each of us. How does formal stuff get packed along with everything else without it getting wrinkled or messy?
When you say carry on, do you mean only enough luggage so you can do the self carry off, or small enough to carry it on a plane with you? I couldn't imagine packing for an 8 day cruise in just a bag that could be stashed in an overhead compartment. Our last cruise we brought a large and medium suitcase. We had to give it to the cruise line at embarkation, but carried them off ourselves at debarkation. |
Why not take a suite bag, and hang it up on the plane. Would that help?

It would depend on the material of the clothes, but you could try the roll method. Don't fold, but roll. Remove as soon as you can. Hang in the bathroom, with shower on hot, in order to steam the wrinkles out.
If you do not have to worry about to many carry on for the plane, I would do the suite bag. Luanne |
