Default Carnival Freedom

Hi Everyone! I am hoping for some opinions of Carnival Freedom. I have sailed on Carnival many years ago, a older boat, the Sensation maybe and it was VERY small and dated. We did have fun though.

Regardless, I have been sailing on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean since due to the itinerary they have offered. I have been nothing but very pleased on both of those lines.

I want to take a cruise Thanksgiving week and Carnival has the best itineraries of all the lines for what I am looking for. I know Carnival has more children on the ship, but has anyone reading this been on Freedom? How is the food? How is the ship in general?

I have read the cruise reviews but I was looking for some personal opinions of anyone has time.

Also how are the cabins? I found this link online and if this is how the interior cabins look, I bet even the larger rooms like oceanview are even better.

Thanks to anyone who wants to share, I appreciate it!!!!!

mmajoyce - thanks for the great link. Super pictures. We are booked on the Freedom for the January 19 th sailing. I have heard nothing but good things about the Freedom.
I think any cruise ship will have more children on board during a holiday sailing, but being a new ship, the fares will be higher on the Freedom and will probably discourage a lot of younger families.
We have sailed Carnival many times, and have always been pleased with our experiences. We normally book balcony cabins, and love the size and layout. We have sailed the Glory and the Conquest which are sister ships, and we thoroughly enjoyed them both.
I hope this helps with your decision making :-)

The Freedom is a great ship. We were fortunate to sail her on the May 1 itinerary so it was very new and very clean. Our balcony cabin on the 8th level was very nice and the food was very good.

As far as the dining room, I would try to get seating on the lower level of the Chic dining room. The Maitre D' performs there during dinner (Frank Sinatra style) and is very good.

If you have not already done so, visit John Heald's blog - he is the Carnival Freedom's Cruise Director.

We are taking the upcoming relocation cruise (October 28th) and it has been a great joy getting to know John and the ship before we even leave.
