Default Insurance, Insurance, Insurance

It only costs around $40-50 a person.
No reason in the world for anyone to cruise without it.
And prepare for formal nights as well rather than avoiding them. Just MHO

What does it cover?

Where do I find it for that price?

Bob;
I agree with you 100% on both points. I look at insurance as part of the cost of a cruise. Life is full of surpises and you never know when old MURPHY is going to raise his ugly head and ruin your cruise. I really enjoy the formal nights as I seldom dress up with a suit and tie. My DW really enjoys it. Gives me a chance to get some nice pictures taken. We usually go back to our cabin and change clothes after awhile, and do what we want the rest of the evening. As you said Just mho.

I am not sure where you get those prices, but I absolutely agree with you regarding the sensibility of taking out the insurance.

This year, my wife and I are taking the Carnival Freedom relocation cruise - who knows what could possibly happen out of the country. We have actually had a cruise run over because of a hurricane and the insurance basically paid for itself.

As for formal night - absolutely. It is a night to wear my tux and my wife wears one of her 20000000000000 gowns (or so it seems). Because we go dancing after dinner, we usually go change after the first break, but I do enjoy the dressing up.

Totally agree with the insurance.. I am a Travel agent so I have seen the good and the bad from either taking/not taking it..

I had a lady this summer that did not take it and about a month before they traveled she found out that her husband had cancer. He wouldn't be able to travel to Europe. I begged the cruise line to move her to another sailing next year, luck her they did.. However they made her take it at this point. Remeber your not always this lucky!

As for someone's above question about what it covers. Lots of things like: if you have to cancel for a covered reason (illness, injury or death) of yourself or immedate family, also most will give you some baggage coverage and medical coverage while your away.

That sounds about right on what we paid for insurance, which we bought along with the cruise through AAA. It covers just about everything, including a pre-existing illness.
I'm glad we did it.
Can't wait to go......

We used insuremytrip.com. This site will show you a wide variety of plans to choose from. We paid $118 for a 7-day cruise.

I've had to use my insurance 3 different times, all travel delays. Twice when the ship was late arriving back in home port and once when my connecting airport was shut down due to tornadoes.

It covered the cost to rebook my flight, hotel costs, food, rental car and a broken blow dryer in my lost luggage that took 4 days to get to me.

I usually pay around $70 for my policyand I always use CSA insurance.

Travel Insurance is almost a must these days, due to airline delays and lost luggage.

We have purchased our travel insurance from DB tours for the last 12 years. They have been in business since 1945 and provide discounts for the number one ranked travel insurance company, TravelGuard.
TravelGuard is owned by AIG.

Ask for Hal at DB Tours and request the traveler's discount. Their number is 803-781-7866.

Hope this is helphful
