Default Packing for Cold Weather vs Warm Weather

I've been on 2 Caribbean cruises where the packing is mostly shorts, tees and formal clothes for 2 nights.

Now I'm trying to pack for Alaska and everything I'm packing is so much more bulky. Winter sweaters, pullovers, jackets, etc. are taking up 3 times as much space. I can pack 5 tees in the same amount of space as 1 sweater.

I think I might need more suitcases!

We leave for Alaska at the end of the month and have been dreading packing all those bulky clothes. Thankfully we are leaving out of a local port, so no need to worry about air travel, too.

The price we pay for vacation.

Have a great trip!

Packing was so hard for Alaska. We sailed this past May on the Spirit. Packed way to many sweatshirts, sweaters and such. Did not wear 1/2 of what I took. Did not need hats or gloves ( which I packed 2 of each). Remember you can always buy a extra sweatshirt or light jacket is you need. They sell them in every port. I love the Carribbean..packing is so much easier. You will love the beautiful scenery in Alaska but I missed the beaches and shorts!!
