Default Boarding question

We are going on the Fascination on Aug. 17th. I read here some have been boarding the boats from 11:30 a.m. Our passes tell us to start at 1:30 and to not come sooner or we may be standing outside. Is that really true? Our hotel stay is done at 11 am in Miami. I have no idea what to do if I can't go straight to the port as planned.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Don't believe it! If you head for the ship at checkout, that'll be PERFECT! We're always there around 11AM and onboard before noon. The perty will already be goin on the lido deck. Lunch will be served, don't miss a moment!

Yep, hit the port about 11:30, and you'll probably have very short lines, and good food at the buffet! You probably won't be able to get into your cabin until 1:30, but you can enjoy the buffet, explore the ship and generally start your vacation two hours earlier.

Ken

P.S. Even if they say you can't get into your cabin until 1:30, they usually will let you drop off your carry-on there, in the closet, so you won't have to lug it around with you until 1:30. Not always, but usually.

yes, you can explore the ship, hang out on the Lido deck for fun and food, and drop off your carry ons in the cabin first - I found that out the day after we sailed, Ian and I had lugged our carryons around for an hour.

Here's a photo of Fascination we shot in Nassau from our balcony.

Oh thank you all so much! This takes a big load of worry off. My husband and I are bringing our three kids. It's one thing to be by ourselves but with the kids...

This is our 2nd Carnival cruise.

Thanks for the pic.

here's a tip; since you are traveling wiht your kids, pack everything in the carryon that you will need for the first afternoon; for example, swimsuits, sun block, kids books, toys, etc - that way if your luggage doesn't make it till your room until later in the day, it would hamper your first hours on the ship. - let the kids back their own carryon - so as to eliminate any problems for them wanting something that is in their luggage (luggage is not brought on the ship until about 1:00 pm or later and is an ongoing process throughout the day.)

I usually get on the ship early, with my swimsuit under my clothes and have my carryon stocked with essential items, such as my camera, extra batteries, a change of clothes for the dining room, sunblock, a book, and of course, toiletries.
