Pictures in posts - HOW?

I see a lot of folks put photos into posts, but I don't seem to be able. I read the site FAQs and it states you gotta link to pictures, yet, some folks can do it. Anyone wanna help out this old jarhaid?

The easiest way I have found is to resize your photos to 800x600 px, upload them into cruisemates gallery and then post from there. I have tried and tried to do it other way, but this is the best way I have found that always works. If your photos are larger than 800x600 they will not upload. I have a gallery in the cruise section and in the personal gallery for non cruise photos.

Don't feel bad it took me FOREVER to get one of mine up one day. Make sure you put the "image" brackets around the link, or just click on the image button at top of post. I don't know how many times I tried before I finally got it right. The thing is it's easy, but it sure did give me fits when I first started trying. Keep working at it, it will work eventually.

go to www.photobucket.com its free. you create a account and upload the pictures. There are four options after you upload. pick the URL off of the picture. click the Img button... paste in the picture url then click it again.

your pic will show up

AHA, I've been highlighting the URL then clicking "Img" once which puts brackets on both ends but doesn't work. I'll try your way!

I was looking at the first post, and it looks like it should work, have no idea why it won't.. I can copy the link and see the pic...weird.

Donna, I couldn't understand it either. Thought if you put the pics in the Cruisemates gallery and referenced the URL it would post. Only way I could make it work was Dina's method of using photobucket to host the pics. BTW, the photo is Glory in St. Thomas and we snapped it from the Leylon Sneed returning from Trunk Bay/St. John. You recommended that excursion and it was FABULOUS. Did Paradise Point after docking in the dark, absolutely BREATHTAKING!

Ok Cleveland,
I figured it out. If you right click on the picture and go to properties, use that url address. It should end with .jpg....I just changed that and it worked!
