Default Spending money-how much do you bring

I am bringing $2100 with me, of which I plan on going on a wee spree and buying some bling bling in the jewlery stores (nothing major, just a little something for me). I do plan on donating some to the casino, but I do hope I take more back than I donate .

How much do you usually bring?

Since I have never been on a cruise (yet, 25 days and counting) I wouldn't know how much to bring. In fact I actually started my own topic on the subject.
However, we (my sister and I) will also be donating to the cause (casino) and maybe having a couple of drinks. We may try to buy a couple of soveneirs, but no spree for us.
We plan on bringing about $800.00 - $1000 for both of us. Hoping to have left overs.
4 day cruise for us, but I'm counting it as 5 days, since we get 4 nights. Hey, every little bit counts. 8) 8) 8)

I cruise solo. I am a firm believer in the "Help Carnival Build A New Ship Fund" that is held every evening in the casino. I donate moderately.

I am also a lover of foo-foo drinks and will consume 4 (give or take) spirited beverages an evening (normally taking a night off to recoup.)

I do not purchase pictures, souvenirs (keychains only) or partake in the spa. I also tend not to book ship excursions but rather just grab a cab at port and head to the beach.

All of that is to say that I budget to spend $100-$125 a day. I will bring $300 or so in cash and use my credit card for my sail and sign account. At the end, I will use whatever cash I have left to pay down or pay off my sail and sign.

I don't spend $100 a day but that gives me plenty of wiggle room to enjoy my cruise without going over budget.

If I didn't know better, I would swear you just mapped out our vacation.. That pretty much sums up what we planned with the exception of the spa. My sis has a lot of aches and pains, and we thought we might try to catch one the in port specials. 8)

I've been on 2 cruises this yr and going on one in Dec. On the first one I brought 2k in cash and came home with 500 bucks and 900 dollars on my sail and sign account. My second cruise I 1500.00 and came home with 20 dollars and a sail and sign account of 650.00. Oh yeah both trips were for 4 people.

Everything on the ship goes on my CC. Then I take $300 cash including $50 in ones for tips.

I've been on 10 cruises so I don't buy pictures on board any more. I might buy a T-Shirt or refrigerator magnet with the ship's name on it. I will gamble about $20, buy a few drinks.

I do most of my drinking on shore, it's so much cheaper. Except Carlos &
Charlies or Senor Frog's, they're not cheap. But, I only need a couple of their yard drinks and I'm happy.

I don't book Carnival tours anymore, I book on my own if I want something. The last cruise I didn't book anything, just did my own thing at all ports.

Wow, great question. How much SHOULD I bring? Considering it will be only my husband and I and neither of us drink, gamble, or smoke......hmmm We do like to eat!! As far as pics go, I'm usually chinchy unless they are really good pics. I'm bringing a camera. I've heard about the softdrink container you can buy so we may get that. Since its our first cruise we will take the ship excursions (I'll admit it, I'm too chicken to go adventuring..lol) . I was thinking $500 in cash would cover us, and use a CC for the SS card, but now I'm not so sure Ya'll are the great vets of cruising, what do ya'll think? Should I increase our budget? and by how much?

Hi!

I have been on two cruises and about to go on my 3rd cruise next month. i usually bring $400.00 for myself, that includes sail and sign, excursions, shopping in ports etc...i am not a drinker! i will have maybe 2 virgin mixed drinks a day..and i spend about $20.00 a night in the casino on the slots. usually i put $250.00 on my sail and sign card for a 5-7 night cruise.

60.00 on drinks
100.00 at casino (use cash)
60.00 automatic tips
100.00 on excursions
50.00 shopping - not a big shopper

That's ME tho..

It all depends how much you want to spend. Cruising is great because you are on your own budget. If you want you can drink and shop till your hearts content or you can be moderate and have a few drinks and buy a few photos. On the island you will need cash in order to get around. i calculate 100 per island. If we do any shopping besides the markets we charge it. To be honest we are not big bling bling shoppers when we travel. I like to shop were I can return if needed. I have been cruising since I was a child my budget has changed through the years. Most people wil lgive you a ball poitn figuer then you can decided what is best for you. If you have money left over you could always put it towards your sign and sail card at the end of the trip. After so many years of cruising the islands you start to shop less and just enjoy the time chillin .

Default Cruise budget

Girlfriend and I (both in our mid 30s) had a sail and sign bill at a little over $1000.00 and we spent about $800.00 in cash at the ports and in the casino. We were on a 7 night cruise.

Just a side note... $300.00 of that sail and sign bill came out of our room's mini bar. DON'T TOUCH THE MINI BAR! I normally don't. However, I didn't think that I would care about a few over priced drinks on my bill. I was wrong and so was the daily count on our minibar.

Just a little tip
