Rulfm..Celebrate your father's life by enjoying the trip. My mother passed away on 9/22/06 and i'll be on my 7 day cruise on the 1 yr anniversary. I'm going to honor my mother's memory and have a good time. What else would she have wanted me to do ?

Hello all, my name is Barry my wifes name is Jenny. Hence, BarJen!
We have been married for 17 wonderful years, 2 kids duaghter 14, son 16.
I work for Pfizer in Kalamazoo MI, Jenny is a stay at home mom.
We love to travel, spend time with the kids, and when we do get a chance to get away we enjoy taking rides on my motorcycle.

Also wanted to comment on what a wonderful site this is, I don't post very often, but do enjoy reading the adventures of other when I am unable to go on a cruise!

I'm Rob. I am a 39 year old single guy in Tampa, FL. I have been on 4 cruises in 1 year. I caught the cruise bug last year and can't get enough. I actually took my mom on her first cruise last year too.... she loved it.

Living in Tampa is great. I drive by the port every morning on my way to work. It's hard not to pull into the parking garage and hop on a ship. I am constantly looking for my next cruise. 3 day, 4 day.. it doesn't matter.

I'm Julie. Just over from that 'other' cruise board Captain was on! Saw a post about this place. Hope it's friendlier to us Newbies!!

Been on 1 cruise - Legend 6/3 - 10/07. Booked Legend again for 7/27 - 8/3/08. This one may or may not happen as it's a surprise that DH will find out about on his birthday this Oct. Going to use it if it happens to celebrate his 50th in 2008. If he's not keen on it, I'll just get the deposit back.

3 kids - DS21 (lives @ home & is trouble with a capital 'T'), DS18 living at home starting college next week. DD15 - sophomore, learning to drive.

3 dogs - 2 are my babies - the yorkies - 1 is only 2.5 lbs full grown. LARGE chocolate lab who is 12.

Live in LandLocked New Mexico. Don't care for it much, but DH job is here. I'm a SAHM. Homeschooled the kids - middle one all the way as he was a competitive gymnast for 13 years. Travelled a LOT between that & DD's Fencing, but never cruised til last year for our 25th.

Wishing I lived in Florida near a port!!!

My name is Kelly and I am from Vacaville, California. My Mother, My Sis, My 2 Nieces, and Their other g-ma are going on the Thanksgiving cruise on the Freedom. This will be our 5th cruise for myself and my mother and the second for my nieces and my sis and the first for my nieces other g-ma. We are leaving all the men home to fend for themselves on Thanksgiving. We will be sipping drinks on the lido deck with our feet up while they have to cook and clean! It will be a great distraction as my father just passed away at the tender age of 57 due to Alzheimer's. So we are going to relax and have a wonderful time as their 38th wedding anniversary is 9 days before we leave. I am so happy we have found this website as it has wonderful information and I cannot wait to have John Heald as our CD! He was our very first CD and no one has added up since then. I would cruise more if I could only win the lotto! I might since the Mega Millions is up to 122 Million this Tuesday. Thanks for making myself and all the other newbies welcome.

Andy here from Oviedo Florida, just outside of Orlando. My wife Kim and I are in our early to mid 40's and have two daughters, ages 16 and 8. We cruised on the Inspiration back in June and had what I would rate as our best family vacation ever! Can't wait to do it again.

I am a cruise addict, mostly have to sail alone cause hubby dont like sailing (OK he has never been, but is prone to his stupid opinions on all sorts of topics that he has no experience with) I am 45, a registered nurse, work in an ER. My next cruise is in 43 days, a quickie to Nassau on the Carnival Sensation. (by myself but wont be alone for long) My dream cruise is a transatlantic then meditrannean(sp?). I have a 20 yr old daughter and 14 yr old triplets. The kids have all been on a cruise with me and tho they all enjoyed themselves are not as cruise crazy as I am. My favorite cruise so far has been the 7 day out of Tampa to grand cayman, belize, costa maya(love that port, danced on the pool bar for hours). Love these boards, thanks for the thread Luanne[/img]

Oh yes! Our PVP with Carnival has DD form 2 on file, I scanned it and e-mailed it to her, and my DL. It saved us $400 on our Glory Cruise, $160 for our Elation and upcoming Carnival Freedom cruise!

I am thankful that Carnival rewards those that have served in our Armed Forces!

Hey yha'll. Chrisi here from Oklahoma. 25 and boyfriend Mike is 27. I have two little girls (5 and 6) and have been divorced for 4 years. Mike and I are cruising our first in April 2008 on Conquest for 7 days. I really want to take the girls but will travel kid-free first. We are going to be driving down to Galveston (9 hours?) along with another couple and having booked excursions yet but looking forward to this vacation like no other.
I am a receptionist and BF owns a gym. We have been together for about 2 years and added another family member last Christmas. A Chihuha we named Desiel. OH the joy..... (First animal for both of us)
Like some others have mentioned, I have found several good tips here and enjoy reading posts here a few times a week.
Thanks for all the good advice! It really helps those of us who have no idea what we are getting ourselves into.. (and I mean that in a good way)

Welcome to Cruisemates!! My DW & I have been to Canada twice. It is the CLEANEST country! We traveled to Fergus, Ontario. We have been doing genealogy for about 35 years, and my last name being Fergus, I was curious. Turns out a man by the name of Fergus settled there, helped build the town & moved on. The stone buildings there are beautiful. My DW says when we retire, we are moving to Fergus!!
We cruised western Caribbean (1st cruise) in 2004. We are cruising again in September on the Liberty. I'm sure you will have a great time on your cruise.
