Default Houston Bayport Cruise Terminal

Does anyone have any recent info on the Houston Bayport Cruise Terminal? All I've been able to find is that if was originally due to open Fall of 2007 but now has been pushed back until sometime in 2008. Not sure that they have commitments from any cruise line as of yet. I haven't been able to find ANY recent articles or info --hoping maybe someone else has some info???????

This is really NEW information, but I can tell you what I know. Currently, there aren't any cruises out of the Port of Houston (Barbour's Cut) and I haven't heard of any new contracts.

A few months ago, we rode past the facility by boat, on a Friday, and there wasn't any activity. I'm guessing that since they don't have a contract in hand, they have pushed back the completion date. I'm anxious for it be up and running, too!

It is supposed to be a really nice state of the art terminal and according their website it will even offer valet parking for those that choose to drive to the terminal. The website also stated the terminal will be aesthetically pleasing with nice landscaping including ponds and fountains, etc. and some retail developments. If you go to their website there is a five minute video tour of the new terminal. I think it will be really nice. http://www.portofhouston.com/cruisei...ortcruise.html

So it seems RCI will have a place at the pier.

I believe you will hear the information from the cruise lines prior to hearing it from us...............
In my personal opinion, I am hoping for an opening date in March 2008
for Terminal One at the Bayport Cruise Complex.

thanks for the updates! I really have no complaints about Galveston, but ..... a little competition might be a good thing. I'd like a few more options as well.
