Default shore excursion booking

Lets see I can ask this without confusing everyone. When I go to Carnival to book my excursion, the excursion specific will list departure and return time in a box with both parties names. Right under that is a note that says "the shore excursion departure is not available for this guest" What does this mean. If I go so far as to check both names and hit add to cart there not any kind of warning saying anything otherwise. I checked all the excursion we are checking into and they all say that. Any ideas? thanks.

When you booked did you have them list any special physical requirements (eg wheelchair, shortness of breath, etc)?

I agree with Carla. The only time I have seen that pop up is if there is not enough time to do what we wanted. This might be a way to let you know, that there is a problem.

If none of this applies to you, then I would call them.

It says that on every excursion I look at, not just a few. We have no physical limitations at all. I can check the names for the excursion and then add to cart and it will let me, no warning or anything. I just thought maybe someone else had come across this. There is plenty of time in all the ports to do these, so time restraint is not a problem . Oh well, I'll get it figured out, even if I have to call. Thanks.

Sometimes the Carnival web site gets whacky. Wait awhile and then try again.

Does it say that for all of the ports? I've seen that in San Jaun when the arrival time was 5pm so all of the excursions were closed with that message but no problem with other ports.

The site is set up to make sure that you don't book something that is unavailable to you, in cases of port times, over lapping excursions, and disabilities.

Maybe I have this figured out, I think it is user error What is shows is a little pale blue square then the word "the shore excursion departure is not available for this guest". So maybe it means that IF that excursion is highlighted in that pale blue that the excursion is not available. None of my excursion are hightlighted in the blue. Just one of those "senior" moments I guess. They should say "if this excursion is highlighted in blue, etc. Oh well. Last time we only booked one excursion before we boarded the other ones we booked on the ship. There are 4 of us this time so we want to make sure we get what we want. Thanks for the responses. Have a great day.

I think maybe it's just whacky today. Normally when an excursion is full they will pull from the site.

Carla, I think I saw once that the excursions for that late are especially for that time of night. Maybe someone else has more info.
