Default Questions for those who have sailed Carnival

I've only sailed Princess before so I'm wondering if Carnival has a soda card like Princess?
Are interior cabins too small for 2 adults and a 13 y/o?
Does Carnival have anytime dining in the dining rooms or only in the buffet?

Any comparisons between Princess and Carnival would be appreciated.
Our previous cruises had been without our dd.

...cabins are large enough for four
..."fixed" dining times in Dining Room. No "Personal Choice"

I can only speak about the older Carnival ships; the rooms are big enough for 4, so three shouldn't be a problem - if everyone is considerate. your dd will probably love the bunk bed.

Soda Cards are a great deal a/k/a the "Fountain Fun Card" - money well spent if you drink more than 2 sodas per day.

depending on the ship: the dining rooms have set dining times: on the Fascination, Imagination, Inspiration, etc; they have 4 set times to choose from. I believe the newer Carnival ships only have 2 set times: main and late.

Buffett: open early am and throughout the evening (occasionally it will be closed to switch from breakfast to lunch, then from lunch to dinner). Pizza available 24 hours...

The carnival club seems to have a lot of happy kids, and maybe someother CM with kids can give you the details of the camp for kids.

Does anyone know if Carnival charges for a soda in the main dining room (ie dinner) if a fountain card is not purchased? Disney does not. RCCL does. I'm hoping Carnival does not. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, Carnival does charge for soda in the main dining room - I base this response on my wife being asked to show her soda card when ordering.

A 13 yo would probably like Carnival more than Princess.

Agreed. your 13 yr old should like Carival more. I enjoyed Princess, but it was quieter and and older crowd and very few kids.

Soda's do get charged in the dinning room, but not ice tea.

The inside cabins are quite roomy for 3 people.

Happy cruising

Our previous cruises had been without our dd.
We had a extra large obstructed on Princess that was 194 s.f., on the Conquest our OV is 220 s.f. which is the standard size, so on the Conquest class ships the cabins are larger than on Princess. We had a inside also on another Princess ship which I think was 145 s.f. vs. 185 s.f. on Conquest. There are some OVs on the back of main and 6Es which are even larger. The 6Es, the family OVs on Conquest class, have floor to ceiling windows and are the same size as a balcony cabin if you add in the area of the balcony to the cabin.

Conquest has more places to eat that are free, their deli makes toasted sandwiches and they have a sushi place (on Conquest down by the kids places) and they have a really good fish and chips up a level from the lido, up above the pool area.

I liked Princess too, wish you didnt have to go so far from Texas to get on one of their ships, I have a deposit on a future cruise just sitting there.

Carnival's soda card is great if you really use it several times a day. I'm a Ice Tea drinker. I can get my fill for free. If you are it's a good idea to bring an insulated travel mug to fill up on. Which is great for the pool area.
