We agree! My youngest(10) bought a ballpoint pen with his figure on it for my eldest(15) just to 'scare her'!lol
He is like clowns are to some people-you either love them or are 'scared' by them!
We saw him at the Past Passenger party in Jan/07 and my youngest was brave enough to have a photo with him. We did not see him right at embarkation though. I know he attended a ?6-8 yr. age group activity once when we cruised in Jan/05.
Good luck! I think you will fare alright as long as you have no kids with you!

VALOR Jan/05-our first family cruise was great!
Yep, ol' Freddy has been aboard every Carnival ship I've sailed in the last year or so. He is kind of "goofy" and I often wonder how he sees where he's going! I've never seen him at embarkation, but always at the past guest party, and the captains cocktail party. He also attends some of the "games" on the Lido deck.
He was on the Legend in June but we never did see him until the last night at dinner when he was out in the hall visiting with the late seating diners. It's a good thing too, if my youngest granddaughter would have seen him up close she would have wailed so loud everyone would have thought it was the signal to get to their muster stations!
