Rumor has it that there is an itinerary change for the valor sailing this Sun. 8/19 of which I am suppose to be on.
Carnival is now saying that the change will be Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Martin. No dates have been given for these ports nor are they 100% sure that it will not change again.
So, my question is, after I start breathing again, can I get some recommendations for excursions for these ports,.
We went to St. Thomas last year on the Destiny so I ok with that.
Nassau is not my first choice as a port, but I need something to do there.
Also, I have never been to st. martin so I would like help with this port as well.
I hope I can get some feedback ASAP as we only have 2 days before we HOPEFULLY leave.
OK, now that I have my feet back on the ground, PLEASE HELP.
You all have been so great in the past, I know that you will come through one more time.
Well, in Nassau we have booked the excursion to Blue Lagoon which was beautiful....beach, water, hammocks in the trees, restaurant, bar...what else do you need. We have also taken a taxi to Atlantis and purchased tour tickets there for the aquarium...you can gamble in their casino, eat at their restaurants but cannot access their pool or beach.
In St. Maarten we have done a bus tour of the island and last year we went to Orient Beach on our own...one of the most beautiful places I've been to...clean sand and water, lounge chairs, restaurants, bars.
Sorry to hear about the change in itinerary Mitch. Were you suppose to do a Western Carib? Sorry I don't have expereince at the new ports of call, so I'm not much help there.
Regardless, you'll still be cruising and I'm sure you'll have a great time.
I hope you post a review of your cruise if you hit these three ports as this is the exact itinerary and ship I'm taking next year.
Try to enjoy yourself even with the change. And, Stay Away Dean!!!

You'll LOVE St. Maarten. We may have done the same bus tour as Rose. Ours was called SEE + SEA and included a semi-sub ride and shopping in Marigot. Make sure you see both sides of the island. The French side was our favorite HANDS DOWN. Nothin wrong with the Dutch side, but I'm not into casinos and Burger Kings when I visit a foreign port.
ClevelandRocks, I see that you did the See and Sea Tour. We have that exact same tour booked for our October cruise. Did you like the excursion? There were so many things to see and do we just had a hard time choosing. We decided on this one. I hope it was the right choice.

you all make valid points.
Problem is that half the group wants to cancel and the other half does not.
The group that wants to cancel really does not like the new itinerary. They have been to Nassau and St. Thomas.
They also do not like the fact that there is back to back sea days at the end.
We really only have til Sat morning to decide.
It is was great sadness that I announce that as of 12:30p on sat we have canceled our cruise.
Our group of 7 just could not agree upon how we wanted to deal with this situation.
Carnival has this great policy where as we will be getting a full refund.
Our air was on southwest and they will only give us a credit, which is no problem. We will fly them within the next year.
The planning for this cruise began back in January and now it all comes crashing down in just a matter of a few hours.
Oh well that is mother nature for you.
The good news is, since we used a travel agent for this cruise, we were able to book an 8 day land vacation in Aruba starting only 3 days later than the cruise would have been.
So, in the end, I guess we did the right thing, I HOPE.
Thanks for everything and keep on posting,
Mitch.........
p.s.
does anybody know if there is a spell checker on this board??
I'm so sorry you had to cancel.. Your going to love Aruba. Its a great place. Make sure you go on the Jolly Pirates snorkle/booze cruise. its a lot of fun. http://www.jolly-pirates.com/
