On all of the Carnival ships that we have sailed, smoking is allowed on the starboard (right) side of the Lido deck, most of the clubs, the casino, and in your cabins. Where ever food is served, no smoking, a few of the clubs and in the showroom.

The Atrium bar and area are totally non-smoking, the aft pool area is non smoking, the large lounge aft (secondary showroom) is non smoking, the with the exception of the casino bar area the entire length of the interior promenade deck are non smoking.

As far as public areas, there's probably more smoking allowed areas in lounges on the Voyager Class than on the Liberty.

Steer clear of the casino, and the Piano Bar and you're not likely to have any problem.

While I concur with Kuki's assessment, I do have to point out that passive smoke is a problem on the Liberty in certain places.

The Cigar bar is immediately adjacent to the aft elevator shaft - you will notice smoke encroaching on that area all the way up.

Also, the only way to get to the Internet Cafe is THRU the cigar bar - whomever designed that concept should be forced to inhale second hand smoke every day of their life.

Although the promenade is smoke-free, smoke does escape the casino and the casino bar, which is immediately adjacent to the promenade.

When we sailed in January, my wife had to tolerate the smke issues - unfortunately, we ran into a lot of smoking in the last port (Costa Maya) which made her even more sensitive the last few days of the cruise.

As she told the company - "My husband had a cruise, but I only had a vacation."

BTW - MTSFP stands for Missing The Smoke Free Paradise.
