Default What is there to do if you are in the age group 18-21??

I know you can gamble and go in the 'dance club' but not drink alcohol. They have all these activities planned out for everyone except this age group it seems. How would one meet people and have a good time?

To me, this is where Carnival comes up short. (I know, you can't believe I would ever find anything wrong with Carnival)

If you don't look old, and the teen club isn't that busy, lots of times you can take part in the teen activities.

You can also go to the teen meet and greet on the first day. There will be others who realize they can't take part either, and maybe get a group to hang out with then.

Sorry, there is just not that much planned for this age group.

My 18-year-old son enjoyed playing basketball on the Conquest and the Miracle. He met other teens in that age group, and they would hang out together. They liked the pizza and ice cream, and enjoyed getting together in that area. They would go to the pool. Sometimes, he would go to the shows--he liked the comedians. I think he went to some of the trivia type games. They even liked going to the Newlywed games, etc. One time he went to a magic show that he thought was good. They spent a lot of time in the arcades playing each other in video games. I thought he might spend time out on our balcony, but he rarely went out there. In fact, he was rarely in the cabin. He wanted to be around other teens. I think it might have been on the Miracle, there was an in-cabin trivia game on the interactive TV. It was hosted by the Cruise Director. It seems like if you knew the answer, you would call it in to the Cruise Director. I never watch much TV so they may do it on all the ships. Anyway, he would stay in the cabin to play that particular game. That was about the only time he spent in the cabin. He loved playing Bingo, and actually won once. We did allow him to go into the casino. We gave him some money, and he also used some of his own money. We did introduce him to the Casino Manager, because he is a very young-looking 18-year-old. The Casino Manager then introduced him to the other hosts. You will need your picture ID if you go into the casino. Anyway, the staff in the Casino was very nice to him. A lot of folks would tease him and say, "do your parents know where you are young man?" He did win a little jackpot playing the slots. But it was a good lesson for him, he learned very quickly that if you do not manage your money, it can go very fast! He decided on his own that he was going to quit while he was ahead so he didn't stay in the casino too long! Please be assured, I am not advocating gambling for anyone in that age group. I am glad that the gambling age in the states is 21. But for anyone in the 18-21 age group, I would strongly suggest that you discuss this issue with your parents before going into the Casino. You can lose your money very quickly! Anyway, my son preferred spending more time in the arcades and doing other activities. Our son would dress in the evenings and go eat with us in the dining room. Then after the shows, he would change so they could play basketball, etc. For him, there was never enough time to do it all. He loves cruising. Of course, there are countless things to do on port days. My boys loved all the activities. There is always so much to do in port, but so little time! I hope this helps. I think you will love cruising.
