Default Cellphones on Carnival

We recently got off the Celebrity Mercury and our cell phone worked fine on the ship.
Can someone tell me if the cell phones work on Carnival ships as well?

Manuel

Yes but it's expensive at $7 per minute (for Alaska). I believe that you can also buy some type of plan from Carnival. We added roaming to our plan so we were able to use our phones once off the ship. If you're going somewhere out of the country, I believe it might be cheaper to get an International plan with your phone provide. Carnival is expensive!

Manuel,
Your cell phone will work just fine on Carnival. Rates are around $2-$2.50 a minute, I guess depending on your carrier.
Happy cruising

It's $2.49 per minute from Verizon, check directly with your provider for your rates

My sonand I just cruised the Bahamas and he talked to his dad for 5 minutes each of the 6 nights we were gone total, and my cell phone bill was only $45 for roaming costs! no trouble with reception!

We were even able to talk to each other when he was in our cabin on Main deck and I was up on Lido getting a buffet lunch to bring back down.

I have found that my cell phone has worked on all the ships. However, normally not at sea. Usually only in a port. I have AT&T and I know that fees normally depend on your plan.

If you are in Hawaii, San Juan, Alaska and have AT+T it is the same as being in the mainland USA. We called before leaving on the cruise in July and ATT said as long as the phone shows ATT we could call on our plan with no extra charge.

On the Carnival Triumph at sea it would show CELL AT SEA on the phone. I asked one of the officers about this and he told me the rate would vary up to almost $4 a minute depending on which company picked up the signal. Bahamas was the highest.
I would call your carrier to find out more before sailing. Good Luck and have a great time.

Default Arrohead is Correct

US ports such as San Juan and St.Thomas are stateside. Otherwise, check to make sure you don't get charged for "roaming"!!!!!!!!!!

To talk to other family members onboard while on the ship and at other ports- we use the little walkie talkies. They work great!

Have fun!
