Hi Cruisemates,
I'm going on my first cruise this December on the Carnival Destiny out of San Juan Puerto Rico and have a question about luggage. Is there a limit to the amount of luggage that one person can check and carry on? Is there a number of bags you must not exceed and a weight limit, too?Thank you!
It is not going to be the ship that will limit you, it will be the airlines. Many now have a limit on how many bags can be checked and carried-on.
Check with the carrier for exect details. You can get that off their Web Site.

I went on a cruise in June of last year and had 9 bags.
I think that was before the airlines really clamped-down on checked bags. Some will impose a limit and they ALL charge for excess bags over two per passenger. The charges for excess bags can get pretty pricy. Plus you have to stay within the weight and dimension rules or else you will be charged extra.

Hi Hi,
As I recall there is not a limit as to how many bags. However, I do remember a weight limit per bag. Keep in mind about the airline restrictions. Also, It helps that the bags nest so that you can hide them under the bed once unpacked. My friend and I packed too much for an Alaska cruise and put the big bags on our balcony... they got damp.
