Default Rough Seas

Is it true that the seas are rougher the further north you go? We sailed from Port Canaveral in February and are sailing from Norfolk in October. We keep hearing that we are in for a rude awakening. And then of course we keep hearing the hurricane season thing too. None of us had motion sickness last time. We are crossing our fingers this time.

Seas are at the whim of the winds. The high speed jetstreams are usually to the far north of the hemisphere so that would make the seas choppy.
