Default staying on board longer the last day...

I got off pretty early on Sensation but didn't have my flight until the next day. When I cruise INspiration in June, I won't have a flight until 3:40.

How late will the transfers run to MIA? Do they leave the ship port every hour - i.e. at 10 am, 11 am, noon? I'd like to stay on board and just enjoy some coffee and take the last transfer of the morning to MIA.

Will I be able to take my carry-on and stay on Lido deck and do this?
I'd rather hang out more on the ship and less time waiting at the airport.
Or, is MIA sucha night mare that I am better off getting there early?

Last time, I had a rental car for the day so I didn't take a transfer after the cruise.

Thanks!

Normally the ships will be emptied by 10 or 10:30 AM (unless there's a big delay by customs and immigration)... and the last transfers will go off before then. The last groups are normally independant travellers with no early flights.

You may want to look at some of the excursions offered by the cruise line to fill in your day. They offer tours for those with later flights, where you do the excursion, and then are dropped off at the airport later in the day.

Thanks, Kuki! I'll see if they have a really short excursion that will get me to the airport early enough for all the security lines.

I might do the art-deco tour of Miami/south beach. Would I just have them store my carry-on under the bus during this excursion?

Michelle:

I did the post cruise excursion in Miami after the Ecstasy cruise. You will have plenty of time afterward as they drop you at the Airport. It was a good way to kill time before the flight.

Joe,

Thanks, that's godo to know! I would love to cruise the South Beach area and grab lunch; it beats sitting in the airport terminal! I will have a 3:40 flight and it says the excursion is good for anyone with a flight leaving after 2:30.

Did you book this excursion on board or before your cruise?

Michelle

The post cruise excursions can only be booked on the ship.

I'm always so depressed to get off the ship that we always book an excursion before our trip to the airport. It's a great way to ease yourself out of the cruise...kind of like a last day vacation before you head back to reality.

Thanks, I will make sure to do that once I board! Or, do you have to wait till the last day of the cruise?
