We are taking my sister with us on a cruise on October on the Victory. My ultimate goal is to hook her up with a good looking rich guy thats single of course! I know Carnival is the "family friendly" cruise line but I hope there are some single and available men on board. Of course she doesn't know about this yet. I know there are usually groups of college kids but she is 35. Have any of you ever met the "love of your life" on a cruise ship or does it just happen in the movies????
I think (again imho) that "hooking up" on a cruise ship probably isnt a good idea. Only because the likely hood of someone living close by is slimmer since they will be from all over, not just your area. Besides and no offense men, but lots of guys like the idea of a cruise ship romance with no ties to the future...is that what she wants?
just let her go and have a good time, if she meets somone its on her terms, and you wont end up having to say your sorry.
I'm absolutely positive there are lots of lovely people who have met thier spouses or significant others on cruise ships, but i still wouldnt want to put myself in line of the matchmaker.
But do have a fun cruise, no matter, your sister will have a blast!
I'm curious myself. Planning my first cruise, don't want to be alone for the entire cruis, wondering if there will be compatable ladies on my cruise. thinking of halloweenout of miami on carnival any suggestions
Try to fid out if one of those singles group such as Vacations to go or Singlecruises.com is on the your ship Even if you are not part of the group trhat doesn't mean you can mingle with them at the sigles get together of find out when they are having dinner.

I'm 37 and my hubby is 35, we also have a 17 year old daughter, on our cruise in June aboard the triumph there was a Singles group on board. We were all asked to dance multiple times an evening. The group was respectful when my husband or I said we were married. Sometimes we did dance with the person asking. Our daughter was approached alot by older men, she only danced once and all were very polite when she explained her age.
We have been hit on on other cruises so I think finding someone to spend your time with and enjoy your vacation is not a problem just be relaxed and open.

Mostly every ship has a Singles Party on the first night.
Its called Singles & Not so Single Parties:
OVer 45 Singles Gathering
Over 35 Singles Gathering
Over 25 Singles Gathering
Over 18 Singles & Not-so-Single Gathering

Don't get your hopes up, her odds are better on e-haromony than on a cruise ship, the "hook up" thing is possible but meeting the love of your life, highly doubtful, possible but not likely.
Agreed Considering I met my Girlfriend (soon to be my Fiance' on e-harmony

I agree, looking for love on a cruise ship should not be the goal. I'm 48 and going solo in June, and expect to have lots of fun talking, laughing, dancing and perhaps a little kissing/touching if there is a LOT of chemistry... but I wouldn't go beyond that. If something sparks, then you keep in touch after the cruise and have a long-distance romance or someone moves near the other, if possible, if you both become serious.
I usually get 26-28 year olds asking me to dance when I go out... they all think I'm around 30. Funny, as the 40-50 something guys seem to be looking for the 28 year old women. I think I've given up on finding a man around my age who looks younger, like I do. Most men around my age look 65-70 or are out for the 28 year olds. Demi Moore has the right idea!
