Self Service Laundry on Carnival's ships and Iron (Pictures)
It cost $2.00 to operate the machines and the soap was $1.00 each. Each deck that has cabins has these Self Service Laundry rooms. They are all located in the middle of the ship closer to the middle elevators on the Conquest class, and on the Spirit Class ships they also have some aft.
Nothin' like doing laundry when you're on vacation ha!
I'll just pay the good people on the ship to do it for me and I'll be on Lido sipping my stoli and soda!

At the prices "the good people charge", I can get a lot more stoli and soda by doing my own laundry.

To each, their own, I guess. My wife and I regularly do laundry on our cruises, in large part because we take part in a lot of activities and I tend to sweat a lot. We usually do the laundry at 2AM and have the room to ourselves.
BTW - I am the one who does the ironing!!!

I always take a little box of detergent and dryer sheets but don't always use them. On one cruise, we visited Belize and our son did the Bicycle in Belize tour. It happened to be very muddy so you can imagine what hs clothes looked like when he returned to the ship. I did a laundry on the Elation and it was great. I couldn't see packing muddy clothes - . Just don't wait till the last day or you will wait in line. Also, if you need to press something for formal night - better do it early as there is always a line to use the ironing boards. There are two ironing boards available in each laundry room. Our room was on the corner by the laundromat so I know how crowded it gets. Cruisegirl

Remember they usually have a couple of times that they offer to do a bag of laundry for $15. It is a big bag, and you can get alot in it. They offered it two different days on the Glory this last Feb. We thought it was a great deal. I know we will do it again next Jan.

I usually take a small container of woolite and a hanging rod with clothes pins attached and rinse out articles in the bathroom sink and hang them in the shower to dry if something get extremely dirty or I need it again. I would rather wash clothes when I get home. It is easier to just dump the suitcases in front of the washer, wash, hang and put away. Instead of wash, fold, unpack, hang and put away. JMO

It reduces the amount of clothing we take and we travel with two kids.
The best part of doing it while on board is I don't get stuck doing it when we're home and the rest of the family is chilling out telling others about our cruise!
