I am planning a cruise to Western Caribbean in March 2008, for my family. I have two teenage daughters. We have been looking at a few Carnival ships and NCL Sun. How are the activites for teeangers onboard ships?
as the western carribbean has just been through some hurricanes, I don't know the status on ports, docks etc... if it were me I would try the eastern carribbean for March 2008. Carnival is a great ship for teenagers, I don' t know about NCL

For a first cruise, I look for a 5 day on either Imagination outta Miami to Ocho Rios/Grand Cayman or Inspiration outta Tampa to Grand Cayman/Cozumel. NCL, just a waste of my time.
Carnival is great for teenagers. They have a great teen program and my DS has always had a fun time.
If you are going during Spring Break, there will be hundreds of teens on the ship. We did that last year and it amazed my DH and I that there were so many onboard...but were happy because our DS was constantly going from one event to another. Other times many of the teens were just hanging around talking in huge groups.
If it's not Spring Break (I'm not looking at my calendar) then there won't be many onboard, no matter what ship you take.

Your teenagers will LOVE Carnival, and you will have tons to do as well. The Western Caribbean is prettier than the Eastern IMO but both are nice and as long as I'm on a ship it doesn't matter to me You can always contact a Carnival Vacation Planner from the website and ask them for information. My CVP is fabulous and always gets me a great deal.
Your teens will love any cruise you choose if its their first. They will no doubt meet lots of new friends and get totally wrapped up in the experience onboard they wont care where the ship is going.

For a nice Western Caribbean cruise, check out the Valor out of Miami, awesome ship, great service and a fun crew. She goes to the Caymans, Isla Roatan Hon., Belize and Costa Maya. This is the cruise to go on.
This is the Camp Carnival Activited Caper for ages 12 - 14 onboard the Valor.
