Default Weight Watchers

Does anyone know if Weight Watchers ever has meetings on the ships? Seems that it would be a logical place.

I don't remember seeing anything for Weight Watchers unless a group is cruising together.

Only thing I know about Weight Watchers is that I can have 12 beers a day with my numbers

Hi
I have never seen a WW meeting on the ship. However, if you are looking for a program friendly cruise check out the Richard Simmons Club House on the web.

www.richardsimmons.com

I have been on 2 of the Richard Simmons Cruise to Lose Cruises and they were wonderful. You get everything you get going alone. But with the group you get support of awesome people and you get Richard and his classes and parties. The best cruises I've had were CTL's.

Don't know about anyone else, but on a cruise I eat See Food! I see food and I eat it! Then my DW puts me on my Post Cruise Diet!

No WW meetings. Wish there were. How long have you been on? I have been OP since March, lost 25lbs. Very happy! I am 7pds away from Goal.

My plan for my cruise is this:

Eat all meals in Dining Room - Portions are smaller
Start the day with some protein
Eat grilled fish or salads w/lean protein for lunch
Dinner I will basically eat what I want but not clean my plate

Plan on taking the stairs ALL the time
Will run 2miles for every meal I eat. So basically 6miles a day
Plan on doing some excursions that require physical activity

Good luck on your cruise!

Totally enjoy your cruise!

I'm a WW member and just returned from my cruise. I indulged a little more than I usually do this time. However, I planned on it and gave myself permission to enjoy the wonderful food with out guilt.

My tips are:

Check out the dinning room menu in the morning. This is a tool I learned on the Richard Simmons Cruise to Lose. By checking the evening menu in the mor If there is rich food you want for dinner eat lighter during the day.

Eat in the Dinning Room whenever possible. Buffet eating make it too easy to over eat.

Dessert... if it is not at least a 7 on a scale of 1 - 10 push it away. Usually I see a couple of desserts that tempt me. I'm a Dessert Lover especially chocolate...Problem with this cruise is I discovered the Chocolate Melting Cake... it was an 11!

Thanks Everyone:

Actually I plan on eating a light breakfast and lunch so I can splurge a bit at dinner. My WW leader sugested the buffet for beakfast & lunch (He claims to have been on 24 cruises wow). If I go to the buffet I intend to scope out the food before I get on line. That way I can see what I'd really like before I grab the plate & plan accordingly.

Huffca - Thanks for your suggestions about dinner. Iits a good idea. Also I start my WW day at dinner for points purposes Works out much better Since that is when I tend to be most hungry.

Congratulations to all of you weight watchers. I'm a nutri-systems person myself. For me, going on a cruise is not the place to watch your weight. The food is so great, why would you deny yourself for 1 or 2 weeks. 10 lbs. for a 12 day cruise was just perfect. The melting cake was a perfect compliment, to other desserts. The Sun King was over the top. What I'm saying in case you haven't figured it out is, forget the diet, enjoy the pleasures that are there for the taking. Restart the diet when you get home.

Cruising and WW - yes it's possible but no meetings. You can get anything you want or need to eat and if you're like me, you're too exhausted to even think about the midnight buffet besides the fact that's when the comedy shows are!!

Just enjoy yourself and walk as much as you can. Use the stairs instead of the elevator. Walk the upper decks early in the morning. Drink water, water, water. Maybe even take a case with you if you're able to. Your steward will put it on ice. If you have something that you love that is prepackaged, I think you can take it with you as long as it's not the frozen meals. They have fatfree or lowfat yogurt, salad bars, slicing stations, etc. They always have alternative selections for dinner and when it comes to breakfast, there's an abundance of fruit available. I do believe it's possible to cruise and lose.

One thing I will say is that whole comment Carnival makes about gaining from the salt air. I swear it's true. Also remember you can buy fountain cards if you're not a drinker.

By the way, I lost 50 on WW in 2000, only gained five back and have recently started the at work program to get that off and then some. I still have to get to goal. By the time I cruise on 10/13, I may very well be back to my 1983 pre-first baby weight which is pretty darn good.

Good luck.

I plan on eating what I want within reason and having a great time. If I do gain i will lose again. Starting my loss now.....lost nearly 20 so far. After our cruise on the Valor 3/3/2013 I will be right back on program. And yes if I truly want 2 desserts I will eat them...lol

Carnival regularly provides space for Friends of Bill W. I suppose you could request space and announcement in the Fun Times. They wouldn't staff it so the meetings might be pretty quiet.
