Default Liberty- What can I expect?

Hello - We are going on our first cruise in May on the Liberty. (Key West, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios) Can anyone share there experience? Where was your cabin? How was the food? Did you enjoy the ports?

Thanks

We also are going on the Liberty on the same itinerary as mentioned above. We will be sailing on Dec 30, 2007 (the New Year's cruise), so any information will be beneficial for us as well.

Thank you,
Manuel

You two are in for a GREAT cruise! Liberty is without a doubt the most beautiful Carnival ship afloat, and it has excellent food, service, and entertainment as well. You will really enjoy the outdoor movies,,,especially at night, and the ports of call are outstanding as well. Have no fear,,,you made an excellent choice!

We sailed on the Liberty to the eastern Caribbean in June, loved the ship, food was great. Our balcony stateroom was on the Lido deck, loved it. We loved this ship so much we booked another cruise on her for next year.

We have done both the western and eastern Caribbean lots of times and prefer the eastern Caribbean.

You will need to be tendered in Grand Cayman...we have interacted with the stingrays and gone to 7 Mile Beach and just did a little shopping.

In Ocho Rios we climbed Dunns River Falls and hung out at Margaritaville. They have a nice pool in the middle of the restaurant with a swim up bar and water slide. Access to the beach area is thru their restaurant.

Unlike the other two ports, Key West has lots of attractions easily accessible by foot...Mel Fisher's Treasure Exhibit, Hemingway's House, Audubon House, Sloppy Joes, Captain Tonys, Hogs Breath Saloon, Conch Tour Train, Pirate Museum, Blond Giraffe Key Lime Pie factory, Shipwreck Museum, tons of restaurants and bars. There is a restaurant on the docks by the name of Monty's that has great fish tacos...there is also a large swimming pool in the middle of the restaurant for patron's use. Pepe's Restaurant and bar on Mallory Dock has great mojitos.

Thank you for your information Rose, about Key West. We have been to Key West several times, but did not realize there was the Pirate Museum. My wife is really into the "pirates" and will thoroughly enjoy doing this museum.

This is why I love the cruisemates forum........

Thank you again,
Manuel

I loved the Liberty! I suggest making reservations at Harry's Supper Club. IT's 30 bucks a person but it's soooo worth it.

There are lots of reviews so do a search on the Liberty. Mine is up as well b/c I went in August.

Have a great time, I'm jealous!
