Sensation was our first cruise and a FABULOUS one at that. HOWEVER, it was sailin outta Tampa to Grand Cayman/Cozumel at that time. WE did the route your talkin bout now, Freeport/Nassau outta Canaveral, when Fantasy had that route. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT after GC/Coz. I read in another message, you cruised Legend to GC. If I were you, I'd look at Inspiration or Imagination 5 day cruises rather than 4 day to Bahamas ESPECIALLY since you already been to the Caribbean. Sensation's a GREAT ship, Port Canaveral facilities are the BEST, the Bahamas leave a lot to be desired. Sorry, JMO!

I did Sensation for my first cruise in July 2007 with my 14 year old son. We had a blast except that the weather is so humid there that time of year.

I cruised the Sensation last December out of Port C. Freeport is most definitely a port where you need to have something to do. There is NOTHING at the pier except a not so nice view of a cement plant.

After having been to Freeport a couple of times, we opted to stay on the ship and take advantage of the day in port deals that are available in the spa. It's nice and relaxing on port days without the crowds onboard.

But, there are things to do in Freeport. Go to Frommer's on the web and take a look at some of the spots to see. There is an International Market, beach with all the beach toys, a casino and a nice park with kayaks, etc.

Nassau, you can just hop off the ship. Plenty of spots to visit walking, or by taxi. Beaches galore (our favs are Cabbage and Cable), good restaurants and a couple of fun spots to see. We loved the Queen's staircase (easy walking from the pier) and Fort Fincastle, which has the best view of the harbor. We also parasailed and had a blast.

The ship itself needs an update, but is clean and the personnel friendly and accomodating.

My review is on the readers review board under "Dorothy."

Have a great time.

Sensation was our first Carnival cruise, 2nd Bahamas trip. The ship was great and the Bahamas are what you make of them. I love the beach, not much of a shopper. We've decided that we've had enough of Nassau and are heading to other ports. I think you should try everything once. We don't regret going, in fact, we had a great time. If the opportunity came up, we wouldn't say no to going again.

I did a review:

What are you looking for in a cruise?

I did not think the ship needed a refurb. It look great to me.

I loved the Sensation, the Cruise Director was funny and talented. The shows were good. They have fun things to do while at sea. The crew is great. It is not as big a ship as the Conquest so you get to know the crew quicker. You will see your dinner waiter in the buffet, or serving drinks on deck they work all over. There are some really nice people on that ship, so have a great time.

I sailed this exact cruise in June. The cruise flew by(im use to 5-7 day cruises). The Sensation is decent for the age of the ship. The atrium and promenade lit up at night are really something! We went to Freeport and Nassau. You must go to Port Lucaya beach in Freeport(very inexpensive cab ride). The beach and water are amazing!...Nassau has alot to offer. I would recommend the catamaran snorkel excursion if you like that sort of thing. I really wanted to see Atlantis and i went over at night and wasnt disappointed..it was PARADISE!...The cruise was great but i need a longer cruise next time. It just went to quickly
