Football games

So what would the chances be that I could catch some of the saturday college games and sunday NFL games on the Glory? Possibly aired in the bars??

dina September 25th, 2007 08:51 PM

slim to none that they would pick your exact team to show if they do show a game at all. they might so an old game thats been recorded.

Slim,

I'm not sure about Carnival, but on our cruise, last fall (RCL) there were. On Saturday they had most of the big college games on in the casino and a few in your room. 3 NFL games on Sunday and Monday night football. Hope Carnival has them too, will find out in January.

ClevelandRocks September 25th, 2007 09:20 PM

I dunno Dina, Glory has a sports bar right out the back of the casino. It's the one with the golf tees for bar stools. There's a gang of TVs in there all on different channels and if yah can't get the game, you're sure to get scoring updates. Can't say I ever sat and watched a game or anything else on the boob-tube while cruisin. Now here's the epitome of laziness, a picture layin in bed watchin the bridge cam cuz I was too lazy to walk out onto the balcony and see where we were goin.

The Lido Deck buffet bar usually has sports on.

HollidaySlim September 26th, 2007 06:12 AM

thanks for the replies all, I really just want scores and updates but to sit back and watch a few games while having a drink is my idea of relaxing on Sunday. :D Plus getting to see if the cubs make it into the playoffs is kinda a big deal...doesn't happen that often! LOL

Oh bruddah, I know what yah mean, the Indians clinched. You definitely want the sports bar off the casino. This picture didn't come out, but it gives you an idea of Glory's sports bar.

Well how do the patrons (from everywhere) fight over which game is most important to put on tv? No going there. I've walked though the sports bar on Destiny and they were showing cricket.

Yah just hang em over the rail;in and politiely ask if they'd like to watch the CLEVELAND BROWNS or Jacque Cousteau?

LMAO LOL I have a 50/50 chance depending on the bartender. And I would probably pick the Browns.. I really don't want to watch the Lions on vacation.. thats just wrong..

ClevelandRocks September 26th, 2007 02:52 PM

And I would probably pick the Browns..

I dunno Dina, they've been an embarrassment this year. Pray for BRADY QUINN. But, how bout them CAVALIERS last year?

HollidaySlim September 26th, 2007 03:09 PM

Pray for BRADY QUINN.

As a recent grad from ND (recent as in last spring) I have to tell you that watching him progress during his time with the Irish, he is a stellar QB....well hes better than Anderson at least. Now if we can some how persuade the NCAA to let him come back to play at ND so I don't have to suffer through the games on Saturday.......

When we were on the Liberty, I was dying to see the Cubs play so I'd go into the huge sports bar but they only had ESPN DEPORTES. All soccer, all day. No MLB but not sure about NFL. I asked them to change it and they said that's all they had. Maybe if it's on CBS or FOX you might have a chance.

yep.. that how I ended up with cricket. LOL

I have noticed that the bartenders would much prefer to keep on ESPN Deportes or European soccer (football). There is absolutely nothing wrong with either of them, however, I tell you they do have access to the major channels, but you have to be persistent. If the bartender says "no" you may want to go up the chain. They can surely satisfy most passengers since they do have the ability to show multiple sporting events/venues. I have watched many college, NFL, and baseball games on the cruises. With that said, though, you will have a tougher time on the smaller cruise ships as they don't have as many tvs as the larger ones. I just left the Sensation this morning and we did have access to NFL and baseball on Sunday and Monday evening. The tvs were located in the Cigar bar area. I watched an entire NFL game (the Bears) on the Glory last December. And I watched an entire College game (FSU) on the Victory. Good Luck! Go Cubs, Go!

i was cruising last year during the college finals and carnival had all the ohio state games on. and while cruising during the playoff last season on royal we was able to see the CAVS/Detroit games. most of the newer ships will have the games.
