Hello all! I am a first time Cruiser and will be with a group on the Fantasy in Nov and am wondering about the whole experience.. I am excited!! It is my understanding that FORMAL night, should be very nice dresses. Does the spa take reservations before or only during the actual cruise? Does this ship have a reservations only restaurant? IS there a safe in the rooms? These are just a few of the ? I have. Would love to know of anyone else going on this same crusie....

You're in for the best vacation you ever had! Yes, the dining rooms are FORMAL on formal nite. There's only one on a 3-5 day cruise and 2 on a 7 day. Ladies are dressed to the nines and men in dark suites with a few tuxes. Alternative dining is avail in the lido buffet for those who don't wish to dress. NO, there's no SUPPER CLUB on Fantasy. I believe you gotta wait till you board to make spa reservations, but DO take advantage of the free spa/gym services like sauna, steam room, hot tubs, and exercise floor. YES, there's a safe in the room which operates with any credit/ID card having a magnetic strip. Where's you itinerary taking you?
Welcome aboard, Jennifer! Cleveland Rocks answered all your questions. You are in for such a treat! As you think of questions, feel free to ask, someone here will have the answer for you.
Also, when you get back from your cruise, please come back and tell us about it! 8)

Most questions seemed to have been answered. Welcome aboard 1st timer, but get ready you will be hooked. When you come home you will be finding a way for your next cruise as soon as possible.
You are going to have a wonderful cruise and yes, you will be hooked. We went on our first cruise in Dec. of 2005. This has been the longest 2 years, but we are finally about to go again in Dec. Our first one was a 7 day on the Conquest and we did not want to get off of the ship! This time it is only a 5 day because a lot of first timers are going with us and they wanted to try a shorter cruise for their first one. Oh well, I know they will be hooked and looking for a 7 day next time and at least I get to get back on a ship. Can't wait to hear all about yours and if you have any other questions just ask. Everyone on this board is ready and willing to share the experience and knowledge with you.
Hi Jennifer!
Fantasy was my first cruise last Nov. I'm hooked. Going on the Conquest this Nov.
You are going to have such a good time. Lots of good advise and many friendly people to give it on these boards.
Welcome!!
I am so excited! This is what I am SURE will be the first of many. I bought a small travel agency in April and I keep telling my husband that I don't have a choice. I MUST GO!! It is part of my job training!! This Nov cruise will be just the girls, no hubbies. Then my DH and I are planning a 5 day for sometime in the next year. Plus as many others as I can convince anyone to go on on with me. I have been shopping and bought a formal black skirt and 2 top/jakets to go with it, so I am READY for formal night!! Is there an adult only area on the Fantasy? I had read that some ships have an adult only pool area.

I am also trying to build a "cruise wardrobe". Any suggestions on what to inlclude? I am thinking a few no wrinkle outfits with interchangeable tops.... Any tips on the best place to shop for these?
Have a great day!

Then my DH and I are planning a 5 day for sometime in the next year.
Look at Inspiration outta Tampa to Grand Cayman/Cozumel or Imagination outta Miami to Grand Cayman/Ocho Rios. Those are the 2 best 5 days hands down. AND if hubby (or you) served in the military, be sure and take advantage of Carnivals's military fare. Heck, you're a TA, what am I tellin you?
I did Fanstasy last January, and just returned Sunday from a 7 day cruise on Destiny. Awsome trip!!
You can smoke in the cabins, on the lido deck, casino, and one of the clubs.
The safes in the room, inless they changed them, use a 4-digit code you key in.
Don't jump into spa stuff the first day, they run specials all week, the best being on port days, which you can book later in the afternoon after you get back.
