Default Second Cruise of a Life Time - HAWAII in 4 days

We had so much fun on our Millinium Cruise (1/1/2000) that we thought we would never be able to top that. Next week we are going to try. 12 Days on Carnival Spirit sailing around Hawaii then back to Mexico. Wish us luck!

How wonderful! I visited Hawaii, but haven't done a cruise to the islands. I know you will have an incredible cruise! Bon Voyage! 8)

Enjoy your Hawaiian cruise. It sounds wonderful. We have also been looking at that cruise. Will you be debarking in Ensenada? If so, we are very interested in seeing how that goes. I hope you report back on that. The Spirit looks like a great ship. We went to Hawaii many years ago for several weeks. Now we would like to go back, but we definitely want to take a cruise there.

Aloha,

Sherrie

Jeraudg,
DH and I met while going to college in Hawaii. Next year is our 25th wedding anniversary! I've been looking at those cruises wondering how we can do it! Is it the Honolulu to Ensenada? Do you fly back from Ensenada or go up to San Diego? Were you able to get a good deal on airfare? Sorry for all the questions, but I really want to know! [/b]

Have a great time!!! We are doing this next year on Princess, RT from San Pedro, 15 days. We do have to stop in Ensenada our last day but it is only for 7 hours then cruise on back to San Pedro. I know some who are doing it on RCI this Friday on the Radiance and Serenade in a few days.

lifeisschool, look for airfare on JetBlue into Long Beach instead of flying into LAX.

We are flying to Honolulu and returning from Los Angeles. The airfare is a bit tricky do to a "crazy rule." For the best price, we wanted to book a round trip fare to Hawaii and drop the return flight from Honolulu to LAX. The airlines have a "crazy rule" that allows you to drop a leg of the flight provided the next leg flown is longer than the dropped leg. LAX to Atlanta was much shorter, so we had to get special permission to book this way. The best way is to buy the flight with the cruise package. We arrive in Ensenada and "bus" to San Deigo or LAX. We are going to LAX. Hope that this is helpful.

Yes, that is VERY helpful. Did you do your cruise package through the cruise line or a TA?

Unfortunately Jet Blue doesn't service DFW yet...bummer! And the only access we have by leaving from Austin or Houston only goes to the east coast. But thanks for the suggestion!

Gary, if you have some flexibility with your travel, keep an eye out on NCL's Hawaii cruises. Last year we did 2 last-minute Hawaii cruises with them. One in May and the other in December.
The one in May was a 12 day from Honolulu around the Hawaiian Islands and ending in San Francisco.
The one in December was for 11 days from Honolulu around the Islands and making its way to the equator to visit Fanning Island. We did that like all our cruises last-minute, $399 each, including port charges, fees and taxes. The airfare from LAX we found an internet rate on ATA for $219 each return, taxes/fees inlcuded!
We have done some real last-minute bargains with NCL, so check their website daily for any last-minute flash promos.

Captain;
Good info. I will keep an eye out for those. I may have a little trouble getting away from work on short notice. I can only try.
Thanks Again

Default Carnival SPIRIT HAWAII Cruise update

Fantastic cruise! Woke up every morning in a new port! Ship was more like a hotel the first week. Very few planned activities onboard. The last five days were very relaxing and (fortunately) the seas were unusually calm. We arrived back in Ensenada, MX mid day on the last day and were allowed to visit Ensenada like a regular port. Buses arrived at midnight to take back to the USA. They were packed and we boarded at 4:30AM. Although we had herd horror stories about the birder crossing, it was very quick. We got off the bus leaving our luggage onboard. We walked through Boarder Patrol and Customs very quickly. Our bus arrived a few minutes later and we all made early flights with plenty of time to spare. Although 12 days is a long time to vacation, the price per day was very low. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
