Grand Turk - Aqua Boats - NEED HELP

Anyone take this excursion???? If so, can you tell me more about it??

How do you go snorkeling? Do the guides take you out and you jump off the boat to snorkel and back on when you are done? How do you get back onto the aqua boat from the water? It looks hard!! Is there a weight limit??

Any help on this excursion would be great!

I've done the Rhino boats, just about the same thing...They will take you to a snorkeling spot and yes, you have to jump out of the boat, not too difficult. Now, getting back in the boat is another story. I was able to, but it was tricky. The boats, BTW, are tons of fun.

I've done the Rhino Riders as well (sounds like the aqua boats might be the same). We had a BLAST! The tour guide took us out to our snorkle area/beach and we hopped off our little boats and played around. I was able to get back on with a little bit of help from my husband. I do not remember this being to stressful. I am not a small girl Trying to pull myself up on things has never been an easy thing for me to do. Reading your post kinda of made me think back to our excursion and I really don't remember it being stressful. As for the weight limit??? Not sure if there is one. I can tell you that I did not have the standard size Rhino boat. Mine looked a bit different. My husband and my older son were on a traditional rider basically it was a jet ski with a boat wrapped around it (for lack of better words!), mine and my younger sons was a boat the same size at the others , but we sat side by side instead of tandem. There was another gal in another tour group, larger gal (like me ) who had the same kind of boat I had. Now nobody ever said anything to me, this is just my assumption....big girls/guys get the the side by side boats! This truly was the BEST excursion we have ever done. We even filled out a comment card and turned it in at the shore excursion desk. Hope this helps!

I hope its not obvious to the group that I'm singled out cause I am a bigger girl. I don't want to be embarrassed!! I'm nervous. I hope there are other large people on the excursion. I'd really like to do it.

You will NOT be embarrassed!!!! My husband did not make the connection between the boats, he thought I was imagining The excursion company totally put my boat right next to my husband's boat so it looked as if we were just going straight down the line in order.....who knows maybe we were!!!!! ENJOY YOURSELF.....no embarrassment or worries, PLEASE!!!

I also did Rhino Riders. Jumping out is easy. I'm sure I would have had great difficulty getting back on myself but luckily I had a great guide. All the boats were tied up to his boat and he would jump from boat to boat to lift all the ladies back on.

How many people fit into a boat?

We are a family of three, 2 adults and one 10 year old boy. I am assuming we would need three boats

No, just two boats....They won't allow a 10 year old to drive, so he'd have to go with one of you.

Never done the Rhino/Aqua boats, but I just got back from Grand Turk this week and the snorkeling is WONDERFUL.

We went on an excursion that took us to 2 different reef/snorkel spots (one around Round Cay). Neither were from the beach. Best snorkeling ever.

We did see the Aqua boats, though and they look like a lot of fun.

Its $99 per person...but I hear its fully worth it.

Kinda pricey for 2.5 hours! For some reason, the mini boats aren't available in St. Thomas for our cruise. I'd rather do that one as its over 5 hours long!
