Default Question about ID

Just moved to Texas from Indiana & I have not yet changed my driver's license. I am doing mine tomorrow but for my dh, we cannot find his social security card. I have literally turned the house upside down!!! Anyway, he went today to apply for a new one. Can take 3 weeks or more to get a new SS Card & we leave 11/12 for our cruise. The cruise docs will have our Texas address but his driver's license says Indiana. He may get he SS Card before we leave & be able to go ahead & get his license but only if we are lucky. If not, is he goign to have trouble getting on the cruise? I am sort of freaking out! Can anyonen answer my question?
Thanks!

I would call the cruise line and ask them. If it's a picture ID, I wouldn't think it would be too big of a problem. If you had mail forwarded, one of those envelopes would show the move. This is just my opinion. By all means ask the cruise line.

Ya know what I'd do, I'd go ahead and apply for an expedited passport and it should get there before you sail. You will need a birth certificate though. I doubt they'll make a fuss though since the Indiana DL is a state issued ID and you'll have your TX DL by then so you'll satisfy the residency requirement, if you got a discount because of your texas residence. I doubt it will be an issue. But honestly if it were me I'd probably just get the passport expdited. I did that when I renewed mine this year and got it back within 10 days.

My husband lost his SS Card and I believe he got his really quick. Like less than 2 weeks. I bet you have it before your cruise! We are in Texas also!

However, just in case I would do as the others have suggested and call the cruise line.

Good Luck!

I've also heard that the passport applications are a bit quicker these days, I'd certainly go for that, the savest way to make sure you get on the ship.

Glad to hear that. I'd still consider the passport for the future though. It goes a long way towards peace of mind.
