I presume you mean the Dolphin Discovery at Chankaanab? We did the Royal Swim last May and thought it was absolutely fantastic - we have also been diving with dolphins, and this was at least as cool. WAY worth the money, although it is expensive.

Yep, you need to bring a towel. They have lockers; you can change clothes (into/out of) your swimsuit if you choose. They rent locks for a reasonable price - I don't remember exactly how much. There are fresh-water showers, but it's COLD water, and it's just for rinsing off, not for "taking a shower".

There is a gorgeous fresh-water pool as well that you are welcome to play in.

WELL worth it!

If you have a very fast INTERNET connect you can view my slide show-video of the park and the dolphin swim. My friends did only the experience My wife and I did the royal swim.

We loved it. Check it out

I swam with a dolphin in Honduras and loved it. It was awesome being that close to such an amazing creature. It is expensive but I thought every penny worth it. And Chankaanab is really nice-I've done excursions there too.

EXPENSIVE! personally i'd love it, but wouldnt spend the money.

However, if you do want to do it that badly i suggest you just pick up a cab at the port (they are waiting for you lol) and go to chankannab on your own. Check the website if you need to and even email them if you need a reservation. I'm betting its lots cheaper. Then bring your snorkle gear (i'd buy a nice 20.00 or 30.00 snorkle and mask esp if you plan to snorkle anywhere else) and snorkle there, its a great snorkle experience too. beautiful beaches. You'll feel less rushed and get to experience more for your money doing it on your own. Friends with us visited the mayan ruin replica's and really had fun there too.

good luck!

i checked for you, chankanaab charges 139.00 each and you get free admission to other events and unlimited time to stay and do things. (this is for the royal swim with the dolphins , becareful because there is an encounter that IS NOT A SWIM its just a dolpin encounter, cheaper but you just touch them and watch them...boring.

carnival charges alot more for limited time of 3 hours. I've read some reviews and have read that many feel they get longer with the dolphins going it alone then thru the cruise. This is 1 excursion i just wouldnt book thru the ship at all.

also its only 10.00 for a 15 minute or so cab ride to the park..same 10 back. No hassels and 4 of us went..10.00 total.

I also agree, its expensive, but well worth it. Go for it!

Just bring along the beach towel the ship will provide for you, just be sure to bring it back or they will charge you the cost of a towel.
