1. Do you become Platimum as of your 10th cruise or on your 11th?
2. What are some of the perks?
3. Do you get anything from Princess, HAL, etc. if you are a Carnival Platinum cruiser?

I wholeheartedly agree with MJM--- the best is the VIP check in and the priority disembarkation. We were on the Glory a couple weeks ago.
Platinum members met in the main lobby around 7 a.m the last morning-- by approx. 7:15 we were getting off-- your baggage ( platinum disembark. tags ) will be in a seperate area--easy to find. By 7:45 we were getting into the car to drive away.
I can tell you from many past experiences that beats the heck out of fighting the crowds trying to get off the ship.
We usually arrive at the port about 10 AM and so far the VIP desk wans't open yet and they told us we'd get on board faster if we waited with the other passengers. This time we are going to arrive later to see if the VIP boarding works!!
February 25, 2011
We arrived at 11am in New York and the VIP section was just standing to check in. Everyone else was still sitting. They checked all the VIP folks in and then started the line for everyone else.
After check in, we then moved to another section of chairs and waited get on the ship. We were the 4th people on board!! yeah!!!
