Default Baboon Sanctuary - Belize

Has anyone done this tour? Do the baboons come right up to you or do they stay in the trees? It's all open trails right? So they can go anywhere & aren't fenced back or anything like that? (think zoo style or one of those drive-through animal safari types)

I love animals, so getting up close to them would be fun.

Our table mates did this and they said it was NOT what they expected and if they had known better they would NOT have booked the excursion. Said it was very run down...

I am just relaying their words.

I would do the Goff's Caye beach break/Snorkel It was WONDERFUL!

Other than snorkeling with Sting Rays in Grand Cayman, I also did the excursion to Goffs caye and it was one of the best snorkeling excursions I've done. They actually take you on a tour to snorkel and can point out all the neat stuff. Its a nice boat ride from the ship, no need to tender into Belize, they pick you up right at the ship. Takes a few hours, so if you wanted to tender into town aftwards, you can do that too.

Default Belize Zoo

We didn't do the Baboon tour but we did do the zoo. I would discourage it because it was a long drive to the zoo, it was so so hot and you really couldn't see anything more than you would in our zoo. I don't know if that helps out on the Baboon tour but I would say check it out very well first.
