It doesn't say so,,,but I wonder if the discount is any greater than the normal "Military Fare" for these cruises? Guess I'll check into it and see.
Thanks for the info.

I'm also wondering if the discount is larger than the normal one. When we booked our cruise, we found that a Past Guest discount was better than the Military discount.

I think it must depend on the cruise itself. I booked 5 cabins for our family for April 2008 and the cabins that had the Military Discount were quite a bit less than those with only past guests.

FYI

We booked a cruise last week on the Holiday for the end of NOV. The military rate was almost $40 PP cheaper than the past guest rate.

I booked our cabins for the Fantasy for April 2008 around June or July of this year. The Military rate was much better. We had two cabins with Military and the rest were past guests. I just checked last week for this same cruise for someone who was interested in joining us. I was told that both the military and past guest discounts had been discontinued for that cruise. Glad we got in early

Yes, I've used the Military discount for at least the last 10 cruises aboard Carnival, and they've always been 10 to 15% better than past guest or resident, or senior citizen discounts. You're right though,,,,sometimes when I attempt to get the Military discount, it isn't being offered, so my TA, who is truly outstanding, just keeps watching what I'm looking for, until the discount is offered,,,,then jumps on it for me. It's a little bit of a pain in the @ss to fax the DD214's etc., but it's well worth the extra effort. I've asked them why they don't just have a data base of those of us who qualify, so we don't have to keep sending the same paperwork in, time and time again, and they don't have a really good answer. Oh well,,,,as I stated before,,,,I'm very happy to send it in for a good discount!

We just booked our first Carnival Cruise with a military discount. Pretty excited about the prices!

This is strange as we always do the Military Discount (last 3 cruises) & get the special discount without refaxing the DD-214 in to Carnival...
We do book through a Carnival agent though...

Yes we just faxed 1 dd214 and they keep it on file. Like you we keep using the same person at carnival over and over so perhaps that makes a difference.
