Default Booking the cabins in the back of the ship?

Has anyone done this? We have one of these on the Valor with an extended balcony. I am hearing different things about it.
All information is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Darlene

I will let you know in 48 days as I also booked a aft cabin with the extended balcony on the Valor. (8459) I have asked many questions about them and have gotten few responses but the ones I did recieve were all positive. My DW and I are counting down the days.

Honeybear:
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
I would really like to know if all the balconies have connecting door? It would be so great to open them all....

My wife and I had a rear corner balcony on the Glory a year ago. We loved it, we could lay in bed and look out the back of ship and see the world float away. Plus since we were a corner cabin, our balcony wrapped arond to the side of the ship too, so we could get that view as well.

We didnt have a balcony on the Liberty but were booked on level 1 in the very back. Lots of vibrations, especially when we were going in and out of port with the thrusters. Scared the crap out of me a few times.

You should be a few levels up at least so i'm sure that won't be a problem. Have fun!

We had an aft cabin on the Ecstasy and we rocked and rolled, literally!

Personally, I take an aft cabin, with extended balcony, anytime I can get one.

We occassionally feel a bit more movement, but the views off the stern, watching where we've been, and the wake of the ship is just terrific.

I haven't had one on the Destiny or Conquest Class ships, so can't answer about whether the dividers open or not. On some ships they do, others some do, and some do not.

Had an aft on the Triumph last year - absolutely the best way to go.
I thought it was smoother than any other location I've had but then I've never sailed any rough waters.
Having said that, I wish everyone would quit booking the afts - they are getting harder to get.

We had cabin 8461 it was a little smaller than the other cabins back there for some reason but it was still nice to watch were you have been.

Well you guys are reassuring.

I booked an aft cabin with an extended balcony for the Splendor 2009 Mexican Riviera out of Long Beach.

I was real excited, but now DH is giving me doubts. I think I will stick with my decision.

I know that balcony is much larger, but we are usually mid-ship and up a couple of decks.

I will trust my cruisemates !

Pat

I also have been very re-assured on the AFT cabins... I trust the cruisemates with all the information I read.

Thank you

we had 7351 on the miracle. the aft balcony room was great. the balcony was only somewhat private, and there was no breeze on the balcony itself but the views were great. most days were very calm but two nights were pretty choppy; i find rough seas kind of soothing (like being rocked) but my wife does not

we'd definetly get another aft balcony given the opportunity.

When you say some what privite, what does that mean? We are a big group and wanted to be able to go from one end of the AFT balconies to the other. We have all six of them.
