When do you reach Platinum Status

I have talked to 4 different Carnival PVP's and cannot get them to agree on an answere. Do you reach platinum ON your 10th cruise of AFTER your 10th cruise?

I was just recently told by Carnival that you reach it on your 10th cruise.

"Only 3 weeks left to cruise"!

You reach Platinum status on your 10th cruise. Upon check-in, your Sail & Sign card will be silver (platinum).

Yes. All 10 cruises have to be on Carnival. (If they let you count Princess and HAL, I would have been platinum ages ago...)

Everyone is correct, it is ON the 10th booking.

So other cruise lines don't count? I thought I'd read somewhere that they did.

Unfortunately no, not even the cruise lines owned by Carnival Corporation, the mother corporation for Carnival Cruise Lines, Inc.

Some of the other lines owned by Carnival will give you past guest pricing and priviages for your previous Carnival sailings, but not the VIP benefits. And sailing them does not help you get to your 10 for Carnival VIP.
