How early can you arrive at the Port of Mobile? Of course I want to be there as early as possible but my mother in law has heard that there can be alot of traffic congestion due to trains coming in. Does anyone have any advice? We leave on Thursday...can't wait
We live in Mobile and sorry to say I am not sure about congestion since I have never been to that cruise parking facility. I pass it all the time and can honestly say I have never noticed a back up. I would think arriving around 10:30 or so would be fine.
You'll have no problems finding the port of Mobile. It is one of the nicest, friendliest ports I've been to.
We arrived around 11.15, parked the car and proceeded to the terminal. When I boarded the Holiday I looked at my watch, and it was 11.50. By 12.15 , we where eating lunch on the Lido Deck.

We sailed Holiday in June 2007 and there was no problem at all with the port. They are VERY well organized, pull right up, get out of car, next thing you know your luggage is gone and within 45 minutes we were on boat.
Disembarkation was just as easy... we did self assist and within 30 minutes of walking off Ms. Holiday we were on the inter-state heading back to Nashville.
I was on this cruise on November 1 and they told us not to arrive before 11:30. Carnival is well organized and everything flows smoothly. Just make sure you have all your documentation filled out, your passport or other ID, and your credit card.
The port is at 201 South Water Street Mobile, AL 36602. It's right downtown and you'll be able to see the ship.
