I am 58, and my DW is 57 and we love Carnival. It really isn't as wild as some might believe. There will be young and old alike having fun, or sitting and relaxing. It does depend on when you cruise. If you go during Spring Break time, then there will be more college partiers onboard. Just go and have fun, you will fit in.

I have hosted at least 15 cruises with Carnival with clients ages 20 to 95 and they have all had a wonderful time. I am 56 my DH is 58 and we started cruising when we were in our late 20's and always have a great time with Carnival. There is something for every age group, not just the youngins' You'll have a good time.

we are going on a cruise april 26th we are all over 53.
no matter what your age is you will have a great time.
there is something for all ages.
We had alot of 20 to 30 year olds on our last cruise and
it did not seem to matter.
We were all up and out sunning way before they were..
Seems the old you get the less sleep you need..
So just pick a cruise and go with it.
the only time I would stay away from a cruise is spring
break.. they may really out number you then.

Default What's age got to do with it?

You physical age may be 50+, but your mental age will determine how you will like Carnival. It's all in the attitude. If you plan to have fun, those "30 something" kids better get outta your way.

Our group of 50 cruisers (Most over 40, lots over 50), plan to stand the Destiny on its end in January.

I'm 49 and my husband is 55. We're going on our 4th Carnival cruise in just 16 days!!! We both have a BLAST!!! I suppose it's a matter of acting your age (which we try not to do!). We're both fairly physically active and we do lots of excursions that involve exertion - hiking/walking tours, snorkeling, etc. On board, we usually spend most of our time apart - he's up on the deck soaking up the sun and I'm enjoying the art auction, galley tour, high tea, etc. The clubs vary in style from younger stuff (disco, adult comics, karioke) to broadway/vegas style shows and even bingo!! So, I'm sure you'll all find SOMETHING to suite your taste and activity levels! Have a GREAT time!!

My first "thoughts" when I read your question was.........."Are you kidding?"

The reason I say this is I am over 60 (most people don't believe I am ), but when I am on a cruise, if I am with someone that "looks" or is 95, I can ACT that way. If I'm with someone in their late teens, I can ACT that way too. To me, it just depends upon what people you are with.

Go and have a GREAT time, no matter what age you are. I have a BLAST!

Mehawk said it right! Just go and have fun you have your whole group to party with. There are many different ages on board. We are in the fifty range and love watching any age group have fun.

Yes, I agree. This may seem a little funny, but if I'm with a "teenager", I can "act" that age. If I'm with someone older than 80, than I sort of get in that age bracket with my thinking and talking.

As the saying goes.....we NEED "all" ages around us, that's what makes the WORLD go around.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I'm 58 and my wife is 56. We have a ball on Carnival, in fact we don't like the "stuffy, uptight cruisers" A $1200 bar bill for a 1 week cruise will probably define us better than anything else. Just try to avoid spring break (the month of March) as the numbers of 20 something will be MUCH greater at this time.

Have fun, that's what it is all about!

I am 52...hubby is 47. We have cruised on Carnival exclusively.
(although we will branch out one of these days)

We have always found the ships to be fun without being over the top.
However, we do "pick our cruises". We prefer the Spirit class ships. They have more of a subdued (but still fun) atmosphere.

We try to only cruise when schools and colleges are in session.
(although we have to make an exception once a year so our college age son can squeeze a cruise in)

We avoid 3 or 4 day cruises. We have never been on a 3 day..but we have tried a few 4 day and just don't like them as well.

Have a great time!!

Yes, I think a person can be "happy" with anyone, or anywhere, as long as they are NOT so negative! A lot of people come on a cruse wanting/thinking that everything is going to go "their" way, and therein lies the problem sometimes. Just learn to take it easy as life is too short, to be in a big hurry, especially on a cruise. That's what its for, to RELAX!

Yes, I hope spring break will be over by the 29th of March, or I'm sure most of it will be over.

First, I concur with IBCruisin about the beagle puppy picture. I saved the picture because that's the identical look that our granddaughter gives her pop-pop....

As for the cruising question, 50 and 51 here and you will not be out of place at all and will have a great time. IF there's one place you can disappear from reality and be young again, it's on a cruise!! I don't know whether it's couples, just girls or just guys that are going but I've cruised with my girlfriends and my husband and another couple. It's fun no matter who you do it with, just take lots of pictures so that you have wonderful memories you can laugh about when you get home. By the way WHAT ship are you going on in May and when. We have our annual girls' trip going May 4th on Liberty out of Fort Lauderdale...

Have a great time.

Past Cruises:
Imagination - girls 5-2006
Fantasy - DH and me 9/30/2006
Inspiration - girls 5-2007
Triumph - couples 10/2007
Liberty - girls 5/4/2008
undecided as a couple yet - timeshare or cruise - we're still in the debating stage!!

Yes, take LOTS of pictures. Those will be our MEMORIES when we get OLD.................that is, if we ever get there

Remember, age is just a number.
