That's not quite accurate. You can bring on one bottle of wind per person. If you want it served to you in the dining room there's a corkage fee. If you drink it in your cabin there's no fee.

I don't read where you can take the wine to your Cabin, has to be checked in & drunk only in the Dinning room or Supper Club....
Now some will try to sneak the hootch in their luggage as always.....

I think the question could arise from their use of the words underlined above..."should you choose". It does not address if you "should choose NOT to consume the wine in the dinner venues.
They sell sample (airline) size bottles of rum, etc in the duty free shop onboard and allow you to take that with you at time of purchase without a requirement of where you may consume it. This is not the case if you buy anything larger than the samples.
PS I fixed the spelling Kuki made from wind to wine. I just couldn't imagine anyone opening a bottle of "wind" in the dining room !!! I hate when I have a case of the "winds" !!!

Beer or hard liguor is not allowed, but some people so try and sneak it on. If they want they can confiscate it. I was told they would return it after the cruise...
Myself, I put a twelve pk of beer in my suitcase and my sister put a plastic bottle of vodka in hers.... they did not say anything.
We always buy cheap stuff, so could careless if they took it, that's the chance you take... but we still had a decent bar bill and spent plenty of money in the casino...
Anyway, I can't stand wine or champange.
if you are interested in liquor you can call carnivals Bon Voyage office prior to sailing and order a bottle for your room it is slightly more than what you would pay on land but you don't risk it being taken. it will save you some money from your bar bill.
