Default People wanting to bring their own liquor on a cruise

Not to sound mean or any thing because I like to drink too but
carnival does not permit you bring your drinks for the week .
Yes I think you can bring a nice bottle of wine per person?
I know we all like to cut down on as much as we can but lets
think about it ,if everyone started to bring all their own drinks
and they did not make money with you buying drinks they would
be raising the prices for a cruise so high. I think since everything
else is included in the price you pay for cruising you could stop
being worried about the prices of some drinks. I dont think they are
much higher than if you go out for a evening.
if you want your drinks to be included you should do a apple vacation or
funjet or something along those lines and then your
drinks, room, flight, and food are all in the price.

JUST MY THOUGHTS

I dont want to make any one mad but thats life.
Everyone have fun cruising and just enjoy. LIFE IS SHORT ENJOY
169 days till my next cruise....

Okay for you all asking questions about bringing liquor on board the ship
go to www.carnival.com and on the bottom right click on things to know or need answers everything is there. Has that you can bring a bottle of wine per person or some pop or water.. Who likes coke anyway.. PEPSI please

I agree....

The only drinking that we do is when we "Meet the Captain" where the boooze is FREE for 30 minutes...
We just don't need the beer & hard drinks the rest of the cruise to have a good time.....
Always try to stay on budget so we can cruise the next year....

I totally agree. I did not think the drinks were unreasonably priced. My husband and I generally had about 2 drinks a piece each day, one in the afternoon and another after dinner during the show or in the casino. If money is tight, you can control how much you drink on your vacation, but if they raised the price of the cruise, there might not be a vacation!

My wife and I take water and soda on our cruises. Why? We do not drink coke or diet coke we prefer to drink pepsi and diet pepsi. I drink Dasani water in the 20 oz bottles. I can not buy these on the ship. I do, every once in awhile, have a drink which I purchase from the bar or wherever. I do not belive that by taking my own soft drinks and or water on board it will cause Carnival finicial damage. As a matter of fact they allow this in small quanties.

I'll probably drink about 20 drinks PER day while on the cruise.

That's why my group took 12 bottles of wine and 12 liters of liquor on the cruise.

I'll buy buckets of beer on board though....

I wonder, do you know that Dasani water is just tap water that is filtered. Now Evian, Volvic, Fiji, and some other brands are NATURAL spring water, not filtered tap water.

I don't feel the need to bring any extra beverages. I like the water on the ship and the fruit juice is privided free!!!!!

I will still take my Dansani over Evian (naive spelled backwards) I can save $$$$ over my own water than I can from the ship. That means I have more $$$$ to spend for thier high priced goods. If I dont spend the $$$$ on the ship that means I have $$$$ to spend when I book my next cruise with them. Either way, they get the $$$$ now or they get it later. (just like uncle sam or aunt hillary)

I'm sorry, I think their drink prices are absolutely outrageous. The DOD in the souviner glass is now almost $8.00 with gratuity. In my town, if I order a whiskey and coke, it's under $3.00 no matter which bar I go into. Last week I ordered a round of drinks at a local bar and for 5 mixed drinks it was $14.00 without tip.

I have to greatly curtail my drinking while on board, I can only afford 1-2 drinks per day at those prices. If Carnival lowered the prices of their alcohol a bit, they would make a lot more money just on customer consumption.

I'll stop now and get off my soapbox.

Not for nothing, but where can you get a drink for $3.00? If that price is true can you imagine how much alcohol they put in it? Probably not very much!

I live in Michigan, in a town of 8,000. Shots are full plus over pour. If I go into the city, all shots are measured and no over pour for $7.00 on up . So, I don't drink in the city very often, not only because of the price, but the drive home.
