Default Drinks Costs

Does Carnival have high liquor prices ,,,i have read on a few sites that beer is like $4.75 and you have to add on another 15% for graduites,,,,i hope this isnt so thta seems like alot for a cruise line to charge that much for a beer,,,also i was told that you are allowed to bring as much pop on board as you like and they wont say anything but no booze, thats carnivals rule but i find that if you do that and from what im told is that a fun pass or soft drink pass is like $30 to $40
what a ripoff

Yep, that's pretty close to the prices. The 15% goes for any beverage, alcoholic or not. Here is the bar menu with prices:

I might get flamed for this, but most people will put a bottle in their checked luggage to drink in their room. I try to curtail my drinking on board the ship because of the cost. But I do buy while in port, it's much cheaper. Beer usually runs $1.50 at the bars in port if you get off the beaten path. I've bought them for as little as 75 cents.

You can bring pop on board, but I don't know if they have a limit or not. I only bring 3 or 4 of the 24oz bottles to last me the entire cruise.

Yes your price for a drink is about right.
If you go to carnivals web site and look under
asked questions you will find all the correct answers
to your questions.
If you drink alot of soda you can buy a soda card.
I think you can bring a case of soda on the ship.
Easier to buy the card for the week. Alot lighter
I buy drink coupons all year for when I cruise, that
way most of my drinks are paid for before I even get on the
ship and gift cert. to use on there also.
that way no bill at the end of the week or a very small one.
Check out their site.

You'll get no flaming from me! I brought two bottles of vodka with me.. But it should be noted, we just added up our bar bill and we spent $400 on drinks too!!

your best bet is to buy the buckets of beer. Just to let you know the beers are the 20 oz aluminum bottles no 12 oz cans.

They also run cocktail drink specials (besides the crazy souvineer ones). For example Bloody Mary's were $3.75 before noon on my last cruise.

Amaretto sours and most other cocktails were $4.50 all the time and they did run specials on many.

Have fun!

It's my understanding that the drink cards are only for soft drinks... unless you are with a large group then I think they have alcohol cards.
Soda cards are I think 5.oo a day per card. My sister and I bought 2 for our 4 day cruise and used them all day everyday.

As far as the alcohol goes... we also snuck in 1 bottle of vodka and a 12 pk of beer, but still managed to buy plenty of drinks on board.

By the way on another note: In the Calif bay area on a friday night with live music I've paid as much as 4.50 a beer and it was only 12 oz not 20oz, so where beer is concerned I think the cost better than I expected.

You can get soda/pop card. There is no alcohol card unless you are with a group and everyone in your group agrees to pay up front.

Default cruise prices for alcohol

the best way to bring alcohol on the cruise is to put in your luggage. bubble wrap it real good. beer is about 4.75 plus the tip. i took a big bottle of long island ice tea plus a bottle of rum. i would just keep going back to my room and make my own drink. i really saved a lot of money by doing that.
