Default Luggage Tags

Hi, I just downloaded my luggage tags.. Since we have to fold them in half, can we at least cut out around the actual tag? I wasn't really sure since it says FOLD DO NOT CUT. I'm sure this only pertains to the actual luggage tag itself, but I thought I would ask just in case. I think stapling or taping an entire piece of paper on your luggage would look silly. Better safe than sorry.

We printed ours out on card stock, cut out the actual tags and then folded and taped closed onto our luggage.

I believe the reason you aren't supposed to cut the luggage tags is because by folding it, you are increasing the durability and hopefully attaching a tag that won't fall off easily. I printed mine for my Dec 17th cruise, cut out just the middle section, and laminated them with the self stick laminating paper. Hopefully I won't have any problems next week!

We always make a secondary tag for back-up.....
Also good idea to put an index card with your phone & address inside your luggage....

I printed mine on Avery 8.5x11 sticker paper. I was able to get two tags per page. It works out great. I cut them ahead of time and when you arrive to the port you can just remove the backing and stick them on.

I just used clear packing tape to reinforce them once I printed them out. I then stapled them onto our luggage handle. They stayed on through all the handling. I also printed extra and placed one in each piece of luggage just in case the outside one came off.

Depends if I am flying or driving to the port. If I am flying, I wait until we get off the plane then I remove the airline baggage claim tags, those baggage handlers will definitely do a number on them if you put them on before you fly, and put on the cruise tags. But if I drive to the port, I simply put them on before I leave home.

I put ours on before we boarded the shuttle bus at the hotel we stayed at. You don't want them on if you are flying, put them on after you collect your luggage at the airport otherwise they might get torn off from the handlers at the airport(s).

So Carnival has ceased to send luggage tags? Do we have to print them ourselves? All I have is regular printer paper. What are we to do, stick stiff cardboard in our printers?

I let Carnival send me my packet of stuff for the trip.
I pay good money for them too lol
The only thing I print out is my sign and sail paper.

You have a wonderful cruise...

There will be luggage tags in your Blue Documents packet. But they are different than they used to be. Now they are made out of the same paper as your ticket, and I would recommend laminating or putting clear packing tape at least on one side for added durability. They staple on so if you don't put them on at home, they porters will staple them for you. Just make sure you have them handy.

I also recommend you use wither a po box or your work address on the luggage tags, as well as your unlisted cell phone or work voicemail number. If your luggage is lost or stolen, no one will know where you live (i.e. an easy target for burglary)!

Also, sometimes people can see the address on your luggage tags while you are traveling and alert their scummy friends back home to rob your house. Even on the note you leave INSIDE the luggage, never use your actual home address and phone number.

also don't use the address/phone of a friend/family member or THEIR home may be burglarized and since they may be home, they might be hiut!

I used my p.o.box and cell phone number.

I know several of the police officers in our neighborhood, so I put the address of the precinct office on my luggage. So far they have not been burglarized.

Why print your baggage tags and not use the ones provided free by Carnival?
