Default Back from Fantasy cruise... In Cabin Beverage charge??

To start with we had a GREAT cruise as normal......
Great food & service....

My only GRIP is I was charged twice for "In Cabin Bev"....
The first was $$8.75 plus a $1.31 gratuity, I had it removed....
On the last sea day (early morning under the cabin door) I was charged again for $10.50 plus gratuity, I couldn't get down to the Purser's desk to have it removed since we were in the debarkation mode......
I plan on sending a complaint to Carnival on this matter...
We NEVER use the bottled water or the Coke cans in the room.....

Anyone else have this problem with Carnival????

Yes, and I had it removed just as you did.

I've had this happen at hotels with minibars. Not on the two cruises I have taken. But I did use them on the ship and did not notice any overcharges. It could be the person replenishing the items wrote down the wrong cabin number by mistake?

I believe that it is more than an oversight as it happened twice & the steward had to give a credit to my account for the first one....
Also the items in the cabin is a large water ($3.75..WOW)...
And 6 cokes at $1.75 each (not to bad)....
How do you get a $8.75 charge & then a $10.50 charge on the last day????

We have not had this problem and seldom do we drink the in-room beverages. When we took the grandchildren we had the beverages removed from the room. They had a soda card and didn't need them anyway. We plan on doing this again in April so the kids don't run up a cabin bill. I will also take some soft drinks from home for their cabin.

We always use the large bottles of water in the room, but have only had charges for the water we use listed on our bill. No problems at all with additional charges. 8)

So far, I haven't had this problem. But, I sign to keep the refrigerator locked. I just use ice buckets to cool my beverages. Last cruise, I ended up with 3 ice buckets.

Bob M - I saw another post awhile back that someone got a charge for in room beverage and they wrote or faxed a letter when they got back and had the charge removed; so I don't think you will have a problem getting it removed.

It seems to happen and I think I may just have the steward take out the room drinks on my next cruise; one less thing to worry about.

Never had this problem with Carnival, but have on Holland America. Just do what some good friends of mine always do. As soon as possible after embarkation they get their cabin steward to remove the beverages from the cabin. This keeps their in-cabin refrigerator available for other things, and the cabin steward passes the word to the room service bar staff that your cabin doesn't have to be serviced for replenishment of drinks.

Avoids all those "accidental" charges very nicely.

Blue skies ...

We had the same problem on our very first cruise. I think on our 2008 cruise I am following suit and have the water and soda etc removed from the suite as we always bring our own. Never had the same problem on the rest of the cruises we have been on.

On the Glory the refigerator was locked, and I had the cabin steward unlock it so I could place the beer I brought along inside it. I had the steward remove all the bevrages from the refigerator to make room for my own without any problems.

The Fantasy doesn't have a frig as the Conquest has....
Good idea to have a chat with the room steward & have the drinks & snacks removed...

I did email Carnival asking for a credit for the overcharge....

Thanks
