My first cruise on Carnivals Imagination was when I was single and cruisining solo. I thought the party atomopshere was right for me (and I was right). Now that I'm engaged We are going to sail on Carnival because I like ( My Finance' has yet to cruise I'm going to book one for us for 2009) the value for the money. and oh yes I don't want to pay for rock climbing walls and ice skating rinks, we will never use.

Plus Carnival sails from NYC how much more convenient can it be from Staten Island.

Finally as I have grown ( In the fourties) Carnival has grown with us. No longer am I out to 3 AM but I'm not old and still love a great time just a bit earlier and Carnival still provides that.

We will be taking our first cruise Oct 11, '08 to the Eastern Caribbean on the Glory. My parents cruise somewhere every year on Norwegian. We contacted their travel agent to help us plan our cruise. The agent recommended to us either Carnival or Royal Caribbean. After seeing the difference in price, for pretty much the same itinerary, we went with Carnival.
We also, are not into the rock climbing wall, etc. so didn't see any need to pay more for activities we wouldn't use.
Also, we were told that other lines such as RC and Norwegian are more "formal" ? And Carnival was more of a party atmosphere. Since this is our first time, and a special occasion ( 25th anniversary ) we wanted it to be fun and relaxing rather than strict and formal. Did we make the right choice? It seems, from alot of the posts we read, that Carnivals service is declining and I really want our first cruise to be one to remember instead of lousy service, bad food, etc.

You will enjoy the Glory. We sailed her this past October (Eastern) and we had a great time. I didn't see any problem with the service and the food was very good, no matter which venue we ate at. Don't let other peoples opinions bother you, everyone is different in what they expect and what bothers them. Two people can be on the same ship and have two very different experiences. Go make your own!!

Default Why I picked Carnival

I picked Carnival for the itinerary (Belize) and price. I have always gone with Princess and had an inside cabin but with my cruise on the Legend I can afford a Balcony!!!!!

For myself and hubby, it's the price, ports and the service. We have always been happy with Carnival. We tried another cruise line and just wasn't happy about the ports and the service and the food.

Only 52 more days and we'll start another cruise and the start of my retirment .

We chose the Carnival Liberty because:

1) Voyage Length -- it fit our kids' mid-winter school break

2) Airport -- we like the short commute from airport to ship

3) Cabin size -- plenty for the price

4) Repeat cruisers -- Fun Times aboard Tropicale '86 & Pride '03

5) Carnival's Got the Fun!

I booked a second cruise with Carnival yesterday!! My boyfriend took me on my first cruise on the Inspiration back in October and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it! He has been on 4 with Carnival and one with RCCL.

We like Carnival because of driving distance to port locations (Yay Tampa!), price, and the "Fun Days at Sea."

This will be our 4th Carnival cruise that we are going on in three weeks. We have had no problems with Carnival that couldn't be fixed quickly. We considered going with RCCL, but the price difference was too big to swallow. And the thing that tipped the scales wholeheartedly toward Carnival and this particular trip is that we have 4 complete days at sea. Nothing to do but relax and watch the water pass behind you.

Actually because I had cruised on Carnival Triump a couple years ago, and found it to be, especially the room, the BEST! I could not believe how much room there was with closet space/drawers, bathroom "large" supply, compared to RCCL, Princess & NCL.

We were just PLEASED with almost everything on the ship, and as a lot of people have said, the PRICE makes a big difference.

I would also suggest, if you haven't already, and want to save time, going on the Carnival's website, and filling out your information before getting on the ship, will SAVE you a lot of time.

Took a trip with a girlfriend, couldn't beat the price, loved cruising and couldn't wait to take another one with hubby the following fall. In order of why:

1. Itinerary scheduling;
2. Price
3. Melting Chocolate Cake!
4. The beds!!
5. The service
6. Good times
7. Not ready for an ole folks trip yet; and last but not least, but very important, for the next cruise we take with our granddaughter;
8. Camp Carnival!!

The Cruise Directors are invaluable too!

Imagination 5-06
Fantasy - end of September 06
Inspiration 5-07
Triumph 10-07
Liberty 5-08 - less than 4 months now!!

May trips = girls' trips
Fall trips = couples trips

Have a wonderful time!

Carnival has always been good to us. We are a group of cousins and families. Our 5th Carnival cruise coming up in 98 more days. The count down begins. Have cruised other lines and we are jsut really enjoying Carnival. The cost and the fun and the great staff and food! Never a bad time yet. Always treated so good. We are cruising the Glory eastern next. Been on that same itinerary but still have things to see and do. Happy cruising.....
