We are planning on taking the Victory next Christmas to the southern Caribbean. We have cruised many (+5) on RCL and was wondering if anyone could give us any thoughts on the ship, how it compares overall to the RCL experience, etc?
We have never been on Victory, but have cruised several other Carnival ships. We also have cruised RCL. I think RCL is a little classier but overall we like both. Worried about the party scene on Carnival but have found that its not to bad. Our service on Carnival has been very good but I think RCL was a little better.
I think you will find the food better on Carnival. Service depends on who you get for a waiter. Our recent RCI cruise had bad restaurant and front desk service (good in cabin though). Carnival is a "fun" ship, slightly fewer activities, but a fun atmosphere overall.
Let us know how you like it!
I am the editor, but I also speculate, ask questions and play devil's advocate. I reserve the right to change my mind.
The Victory is one of my least favorites of the Carnival fleet.
Don't particularly care for that class of ship, and found the service and food poor on my last sailing. Sailing in a Jr. suite helped a bit.
There are also the omnipresent attacking Seahorses.
