I would recommend renting a minivan with Budget and they offer a free port shuttle. Their return location is the closest to the port, about 3/4 mile away. I have also seen Avis and Thirty close by. See who has the best deal maybe with AAA, Entertainment Book, etc. It is a simple 50 minute drive to Port Canaveral. Be sure to pre-reserve the van for your return trip so they can have it there waiting for you. Have a great time.

We used Arts shuttle Service. I do not remember what we paid but it was reasonable. The driver met us at the airport and took care of the luggage for us. I found them by googling the name.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
My wife and I used Enterprise who gave us no fees for the one way rentals, plus a free shuttle from their office to the port. It looks like most people use the busses from Orlando to the port. Seemed to work well too, you just have to wait for the bus to get full before you are underway.
