Default ABOUT THOSE DRINK TICKETS...

Does anyone know if the drink tickets you can order prior to the cruise will cover a "Bucket of Beer" (Say 2 or 3 tickets for that) and do they cover drinks like a Miami Vice? Just wondering if worth getting now when we can stack some funds for some fun on board. Thanks !! Valor Feb. 24th ready to get warm and have fun !!!

We purchase the drink coupons and my fiance' always uses his to buy the beer buckets. I use my coupons to buy foo foo drinks and we use them to buy wine bottles at dinner also if we want want wine at night. They can also be used for any type of drink, beer or shot. We purchase them only because we know its already paid for and we never worry about a bar bill. because we have the coupons. I buy the photo coupons also and the gift certificates ahead of time and use them for our on board credit. By the time we cruise its all paid for and we never have a bill at the end of the cruise. In fact they usually give us money back that is left on our pre paid sign and sail.

How many coupons does it take for a bucket of beer? Do they just put the gratuity on your ship and sail or is it included with the coupon? Just a few more questions~

I think it was four coupons or three for the beer bucket. I have one drink set here for my next cruise that I did not use on the last one that says gratuities included. I always tip a buck every other drink as an extra and that buys me one on one service with the person working that area. They usually take really good care of me for that buck. I also tell them I want liquor in my foo foo drinks because I heard if you do not say that they bring you one with no liquor in it.

Planb:
This is not an answer to your question, sorry. I don't know the answer to it, because we never bought drink tickets.

I see you are cruising on the Valor in Feburary. We are going in May. Please let me know how it was? This will be our first time on the Valor and our 5th time cruising with Carnival.

Have a wonderful time!!!!!

I did notice also that the one set I have left over from the last cruise states each coupon is worth only 4.95, gratuities included but all the rest that I have been purchasing ahead of time for our cruise in April state the price went up from 19.50 to 21.25.
this is what the coupon says now,
>>>>Bar Credit (4 Drink Cpns)
Although your friends are going on a fabulous cruise "Without You!" you can still treat them to a drink. They'll definitely thank you for it! $21.25
SO THE DRINK COUPONS HAVE GONE UP FROM 19.50 A SET TO 21.25. Like I said I love buying them ahead of time only so my bar bill is totally paid in full and I know what I can spend because I have to turn in a coupon for a drink. They also don't put the Fo Fo drinks in those tall Carnival cups they put them in regular plastic cups but it holds the same amount of drink. I proved it on the last cruise by pouring into one of ther regular plastic cup drinks into a tall Carnival glass. So its three or four coupons depending if the prices went up this year for the beer bucket. Our rule of thumb is buy one coupon set to have for each beer bucket my better half will want to buy. One bucket lasts a long time during the day or night for him since he is the only one drinking beer.

Just checked on Carnival Web site and it has a bar coupon for 21.25
and its for four drinks. So not sure how many beers are in a bucket.
I am sure if you call Carnival they can tell you what all you can use
the coupons for.
I buy them ahead and use them in most of the bars but never bought
a bucket of beer. So idea what that cost is.
I also buy fun ship dollars to be credited to my sign and sail card for
keeping my bill at the end of the cruise down.
That ways comes in handy. Sometimes I dont realize what I have
spent in a day till I get back to the room and check my statement
on the tv.. Boy have I had alot of fun days. But with buying fun
dollars its not a big deal.
But I would give them a call ...

Thank you ! it seems like it is worth getting some funds done earlier with these and we'll be sure and let them know we want liquor in them. Also the bucket has always been a thing my husband loves and looking at our last cruise depending on the beer he ordered the bucket was 18-25 $$. so either way will be a good thing. Yes Darlene I will let you know how thw cruise goes. it is our 1st time on the Valor and our 5th too so ready to go !! 8)

Miami Vices were the drink most bought with my coupons. I never asked for liquor in them but they most certainly had it...doesn't hurt to request it tho just in case. Also I agree that you should add a buck as a tip once in awhile...I did not know that and I waited way too long between drinks. That is the one lesson I learned. Otherwise, buying the drink coupons ahead of time was a great plan for us.

Thank you planb, I really appreciate all the information I can get. Where is your cabin located? We are 8450 8C....balcony.
I have many pictures that the great people here have posted. It is a beautiful ship. We can't wait.

I also agree that tipping the staff is very important. I was very happy that Carnival changed the way the tips for the cabin and dining rooms are now included in with the bill. So many passangers would not go to that last dinner to avoid the tip. That is just wrong!!! We became close to all the staff that helped us and learned that they rely on tips very much. They have to pay to get their uniforms cleaned themselves. Most have families and most of their money is sent to them. We always give a little extra to the staff, because their service is to make your cruise a good one and I will continue to help them out. If it improves that excellent service in any way, then it's a perk.

Fom what I understand there are 4 tickets for 21.25. We figure about 100.00 would buy alot of drinks and even a bucket or 2 of beer. Please people let me know if you think this is too much or not enought. We like to have fun but are not ready to throw out the kitchen sink and our stomach with it. Usually have a couple during the day and at the show at night.

I have 2 questions.
I didn't read how many beers are in a bucket and is 1 bucket 1 ticket? Also, how much are the drinks on the ship? It looks like you are paying $5.00 and change per drink with the tickets. Are the drinks more if you are not using the per-paid tickets? Hey, I think that was more than 3 questions. Sorry....

I think on the Inspiration we gave the four coupons for the bucket of beer. I give one coupon per fo fo drink though. I love the coupons like i said above in a earlier post here. It just saves me from paying any bar bill at the end of the cruise. I like pre paying for everything even photos which I buy coupons for so I know what amount I have to spend and usually get money back at the end if its left over. I like budgeting for everything and that is the way I do it for my cruises by pre paying for drinks, photos and on board credit also.

I buy the photo coupons ahead of time on the Carnival web site under "Gifts". The Photo's are taken on the ship and the coupon for them are handed to the cashier when you pay for the selection of photos you chose to purchase. This way the cost of the photos are pre paid for our cruise. I use it to budget ahead of time. Go on the Carival web site.

Thank you, we didn't buy any photos on the last cruise because of how many there were and how expensive it cost. But If we are better prepared this time, I would love to buy one or two photos....
